Honda Cars India has quietly repositioned the City Hybrid by slashing prices and simplifying its variant lineup. The hybrid sedan is now priced at Rs 19,89,990 (ex-showroom), making it nearly Rs 95,000 more affordable than the earlier Rs 20,85,000 price tag, a reduction of around 4.56%. This revision follows the silent discontinuation of the V variant, leaving the ZX as the only available trim.
Priced at Rs 14.88 lakh (ex-showroom), the new Sport Edition gets cosmetic updates over the regular variant. It adds sporty design elements that enhance the overall aesthetics and attempt to shift the City’s image from a sedate sedan to a more athletic-looking car. Mechanically, nothing has changed—it continues to be powered by the 1.5-litre, four-cylinder i-VTEC petrol engine, paired exclusively with a 7-speed CVT gearbox.
Honda Cars India seems to be planning to launch a new affordable version of the City Hybrid, that will make this hybrid sedan more affordable for the customers. Powered by a 1.5-litre Atkinson Cycle engine, the Honda City Hybrid is currently priced at Rs 20.85 lakh (ex-showroom). After the launch of the
