Honda City Sport

Honda City Sport uses a lot of blacked-out treatment in its exterior as well as interior, and that results in making it an athletic-looking car. Although, it's just a cosmetic update - to make it look more cooler. Talking about the exterior - it features a sporty black grille, 15-inch multi-spoke grey alloy wheels, a black lip spoiler, black ORVMs, and a gloss black shark-fin antenna. It's a surprise that the Honda logo, moniker and Sport emblem are still in chrome.

Moving inside, the interior is again a dark horse - featuring a blacked-out interior with red garnish and red stitching - creating a beautiful harmony between black and red. To add more, it features glossy black AC vents, dark red garnish with ambient lights (7 colour options), black leather seats with red stitching, and a black leather-wrapped steering wheel with red stitch.

From a features point of view, it's the same as before - 8-inch infotainment with wireless connectivity, premium surround sound system (4 speakers), Level 1 ADAS and automatic climate control. One important point, this Sport edition or variant is based on the V variant, and it features projector-based headlights.
Engine
The powertrain is the same as before - a 1.5L 4-cylinder i-vtec petrol making 121 ps and 145 Nm of torque and the transmission duties are only given to a 7-speed CVT. Moreover, this engine is E20 compliant, and its claimed fuel efficiency is 18.40 kmpl.

Verdict
Honda City Sport launched at Rs 14.88 lakh is a smart move as it makes this posh-looking sedan more race ready and despite all these changes, it doesn't cost a lot. From a features point of view, it's a great package as ADAS, infotainment screen and ambient lights are there - plus the engine has proven its ability over the years. The only concern is the CVT gearbox - which is known for providing an ultra-smooth ride, not an athletic experience. If they had added an option of a manual gearbox, then it would have been a really sporty variant.
