In a recent report, the engine options of the upcoming 2020 Citroen C5 Aircross India version have been revealed. Amidst this lockdown, several upcoming cars were about to launch but now has been pushed to later dates. And Citroen is one such brand which was bringing in its SUV but now it is expected to launch in early 2021.

Coming to choice of the engine that'll come with the 2020 Citroen C5 Aircross India version then it will only carry a 2.0L oil burner. Yes, a sole turbocharged diesel engine which makes as much as 180 bhp on tap and will come with an 8-speed automatic gearbox as standard.
Earlier, Citroen was bulging towards the less powerful, 1.5L diesel which makes 131 bhp. This was because to keep the costs in check, however, due to the increased competition and keeping the price factor in mind, the 180 bhp diesel engine will prove out to be a better choice.
Unlike the 1.5L diesel which was supposed to be jointly manufactured by PSA-CK Birla at Hosur, this 2.0L will be fully imported. Therefore, it won't enjoy the lower customs duty and the flagship SUV is expected to be priced at a premium of Rs 30 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.
It is quite a lot but not much as the potential competitors like the Skoda Kodiaq and Volkswagen has dropped down their diesel engines. So the balls might favour in the court of Citroen when they launch the C5 Aircross in the Indian markets.

What's more is that when the SUV gets launched in India, it is expected to come in a single top of the line trim only. This one will contain all the bells and whistles. It'll get features like dual-zone climate control, leatherette upholstery, panoramic sunroof, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The latter is expected to get connectivity features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
