The Indian subsidiary of the Italian Two-wheeler manufacturer, Vespa India, has just revealed its upcoming scooters. The new 2020 Vespa SXL Facelift BS6 and the VXL Facelift have been revealed. The updated Vespa Scooters feature a slew of cosmetic updates and some mechanical changes too. The bookings for the new facelifted Vespa SXL and VXL are already open. The customers can pre-book these scooters online by visiting the company's official website. Here are some more details about it.
If you remember, just a few weeks ago, Vespa India has launched the new BS6-compliant VXL 125, SXL 125, VXL 149 and the SXL 149. However, at that point of time time, only the mechanicals of these scooters were updated to meet the new and stricter BS6-emission norms. Finally, Vespa is giving these beautiful scooters a cosmetic update too to make them look even more charming. For starters, the new 2020 Vespa SXL Facelift BS6 and the VXL Facelift will get a new all-LED headlamp with integrated daytime running LEDs. Vespa calls this new headlight system as Crystal Illumination LED headlight.
The new facelifted Vespa VXL and SXL will also get USB mobile charging port, boot light and an adjustable rear suspension for better comfort of the rider as well as the pillion. Also, these Vespa scooters get telescopic forks at the front. The braking duties are performed by drum brakes at the rear while at the front, the 150cc Vespas get a disc brake as standard but one can choose between a drum/disc on the 125cc models. The Vespa VXL 149 and the SXL 149 also gets a single-channel ABS as standard while the VXL 125 and SXL 125 gets a standard combined braking system (CBS).
Powering the Vespa SXL 125 and VXL 125 is a BS6-compliant 124.45cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected engine. This motor churns out 9.79 PS of power at 7500 RPM and 9.60 Nm of torque at 5500 RPM. The Vespa VXL 149 and SXL 149, on the other hand, gets a more powerful engine. These scooters are powered by a BS6-compliant 149.5cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel-injected engine that develops 10.32 PS of power at 7600 RPM and 10.60 Nm of torque at 5500 RPM. Both the 125cc and the 150cc Vespas come mated to a CVT gearbox.

The bookings for the new 2020 Vespa SXL Facelift BS6 and the VXL Facelift are already open. The customers can pre-book these scooters through the companys recently launched Vespa E-commerce platform that enables a contactless purchase experience. The booking amount of these scooters is just Rs. 1000 and one will also get benefits worth Rs. 2000 if they book it online. Piaggio India says that these new scooters have already been shipped and will be available across all Vespa dealerships in India.

The BS6 Vespa 125 was priced from Rs. 1.10 lakhs while the BS6 Vespa 149 was priced from Rs. 1.22 lakhs.
