2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV Teased In India, Launch In November

The fifth generation of Jeep Grand Cherokee SUV has been teased in India. The SUV's launch schedule has also been made public by the manufacturer; the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee will debut in India in November. The 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee holds the distinction of being the most honoured SUV ever, and the upcoming model of the purpose-built SUV will be the most cutting-edge, luxurious, and highly competent Jeep ever. The 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee will be the fourth vehicle to be build in India.

2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Grand Cherokee's fifth generation will maintain its boxy appearance while also including some edgy touches and strong body lines. The seven-slat Jeep grille in front will exhibit the front profile's elegance. The new generation Grand Cherokee will also include a few other exterior visual upgrades.

In terms of features, the brand has confirmed that the SUV will come with a full set of Advanced Driving Assistance System (ADAS), and full Connectivity package with 24X7 dedicated assistance, among a host of other premium features. In the USA, the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee is already on sale. The US spec edition offers a head-up display, a wireless phone charger, a 10-inch or larger touchscreen infotainment system, powered driver and passenger seats, rear seat entertainment, a 9-speaker McIntosh sound system, a rear entertainment system, and other features.

When it comes to the India-specific variant's engine specs, a 2.0-liter turbo engine with 8-speed transmission is anticipated. Jeep might offer the Trailhawk model, which is more focused on off-roading. It will also get Jeep's Selec Terrain, which tracks the vehicle's parameters. The India spec variant's exact engine and other technical details will be made available at the debut.

Verdict: The Grand Cherokee will be the fourth vehicle by the brand to be produced in India.  The American SUV manufacturer might import the SUV as a CKD unit and assemble it here for the Indian market and other markets in India. We expect the SUV to cost around Rs. 75 and Rs. 80 lakh.
