2022 Yamaha MT15 Version 2.0 Bookings Open, To Come In New Colours - Details

Yamaha is preparing to release a new version of its naked motorbike, the MT15, with new enhancements. Yamaha stopped production of the previous generation model earlier this year, and sales of the model were also suspended shortly after. The 2022 Yamaha MT15 is slated to debut in mid-April.

A Yamaha dealer recently posted a bookings open poster for the MT15 V 2.0 on its social media platform, indicating that the motorcycle could be released shortly. Depending on the dealer, the booking fee ranges from Rs 2,000 to Rs 10,000. There are four new colour options available. Grey, White, Glossy Black, and Racing Blue are the colours.

New Updates

In addition to the new colours, the new revisions are expected to include better-equipped parts than their predecessors. In the latest iteration of the motorcycle, Yamaha will provide upside-down front forks in golden closure instead of traditional telescopic forks. The preload-adjustable rear mono-shock will be retained on the next MT-15. Furthermore, unlike the previous model, the brakes will be backed by dual-channel ABS rather than single-channel ABS.

Engine Specifications

The 2022 Yamaha MT15 will be powered by the same 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with VVA technology that is found in the R15 V4. This motor produces 18.1 bhp and 14.2 Nm of peak torque in its latest iteration of the baby sports bike. This engine will be mated to a 6-speed transmission.

In terms of technological updates, the most significant change will be a redesigned digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity. Yamaha's Y-connect App has just been made available on a variety of models. It will come equipped with a traction control system as standard, as well. A single-pod projector LED headlamp with eyebrow-shaped LED DRLs is expected to follow a similar design with an aggressive front fascia. Other aesthetic features from the predecessor are expected to be carried over.
