KEY HIGHLIGHTS

  • Mercedes-Benz GLC launched at Rs. 73.50 lakhs ex-showroom
  • Offers one petrol and one diesel engine
  • Rivals the likes of BMW X3, Audi Q5, Volvo XC60

After the media drives in Hampi, Karnataka, the 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC SUV is finally launched at a starting price of Rs. 73.50 lakhs ex-showroom. Taking the luxury quotient up by a notch, the bookings of this SUV are already underway for a few days now for a token of Rs. 1.5 lakhs. Interstingly, the GLC came up as the best-selling Mercedes SUV in 2022. But wondering what the next-gen has to offer?

Let's delve deep into the details of this premium SUV entering its second generation that aims to redefine luxury and comfort.

Mercedes-Benz GLC Styling

Taking a look at its exterior design, it evolves from the previous generation even more elegantly and beautifully. The LED headlights seamlessly integrate into the grille, which prominently features the iconic three-pointed star emblem at the center.

A horizontal bar elegantly divides the grille into two sections. The bumper showcases a chrome outlining below and boasts a distinctive design reminiscent of a skid plate along the lower edge. Compared to its predecessor, the latest GLC showcases significant dimensional changes. It stretches 60mm longer at 4,716mm and features a 15mm extended wheelbase at 2,888mm, resulting in improved cabin roominess. Moreover, the luggage compartment has received a boost with an additional 70 litres, now offering a capacious 620 litres of space.

Coming to the side profile, it remains largely the same with the glass section sloping sharply into the C-Pillar. It exudes a sporty feel while the 19-inch alloy wheel complements the overall stance of the Mercedes.

Moving to the rear, the horizontal orientation of the lights is maintained, but with a distinctive twist. The LED units taper sharply inward and elegantly converge onto a central bar positioned on the tailgate. What's intriguing is that Mercedes has opted against following the prevailing trend of a continuous LED beam; instead, the central bar remains non-illuminated, showcasing a sleek gloss black finish. The rear also features a chrome accent along the lower edge, offering a subtle skid plate impression, complemented by chrome trim around simulated exhaust outlets.
