2025 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe Design

BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe

This vehicle does look quite similar to the outgoing generation, however, the differences are drastic. For example, the new adaptive LED headlights have vertical design for DRLs, replacing the circular LED DRLs, which does appear more atheltic than ever. The grille design is also new, with vertical and diagonal bars inside, switching away from the signature kidney grille design. Additionally, the grille features illumination in the background, similar to what we have seen on the latest BMW cars.

Powertrain

According to the BMW press group, they have introduced a new generation of petrol and diesel engines. The petrol variant will feature 48-volt mild hybrid technology, adding 20 bhp and 55 Nm of additional power, while also helping to maintain fuel economy. The power figures are yet to be fully disclosed, but the company will likely not include the 1.5L 3-cylinder diesel engine, as it has not been mentioned in the unveiling report.

Also, there is a performance variant in the lineup called the M235 xDrive, which produces 312 hp and sends power to all four wheels via a new 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. This M235 variant, will also get M adaptive suspension, which lowers the car by 8 mm and it also includes sport steering.

Verdict

This affordable BMW has now become even sharper and better, along with a new set of engines and a new gearbox. It will compete with the Mercedes A-Class, Audi A3, and, to some extent, the Skoda Superb. At this moment, it's too early to comment on anything specific, but based on the photos and general specifications, it looks like a promising product.
