MG has always been ahead of its competitors when it comes to providing advanced connected car tech. The brand's iSMART connected car platform has been there since the launch of MG's first product Hector in India. Moreover, the company has continuously improved and updated its iSMART tech with its new product. The MG Comet EV is too expected to get the latest iteration of the iSMART tech from MG. This means that the small MG EV will get advanced features like a digital key, remote immobilization, smartwatch connectivity, advanced remote commands like vehicle on/off & AC on/off, etc.

3 Features To Expect From MG Comet EV: Advanced Infotainment System

Every MG car or SUV offers a large and feature-loaded touchscreen infotainment system. MG's infotainment systems are not just bigger in size but they also offer several third-party app support like Gaana, JioSaavn, Park+, MapMyIndia, etc. The MG Comet EV is also expected to offer a 9 to 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with several built-in apps. Also, there could be a fully digital instrument cluster display in the MG Comet EV.

The ADAS tech is already offered in Wuling Air EV, which is actually the same car as MG Comet EV but gets rebadged under MG's sister brand Wuling. The Wuling Air EV is already available in some international markets like Indonesia. If not a full-fledged advanced ADAS system, we expect MG to at least offer some ADAS features like front collision warning, auto high beam assist, lane departure warning, etc, in the upcoming Comet EV.

Verdict: MG has been selling the ZS EV in India since 2020. But it has always been a premium EV product, far from the reach of the majority of Indians. However, with the launch of Comet EV, MG will be able to play in the mass market EV segment and reach a much larger number of Indian buyers.
