Harley-Davidson Developing New 440cc Bikes; Details

The Harley-Davidson X440 was the first product from the Hero-Harley partnership, which gave us a taste of the bikemaker's roadster heritage. However, if we pick up the numbers from as recently as February and March 2025, you might notice the bikemaker sold only 660 units of the roadster in February 2025, and zero units in March 2025. These figures were much higher in the previous financial year, with Hero selling 2,219 units in February 2024, and 1,835 units in March 2024.
With Harley-Davidson's plans to expand the single-cylinder platform, reports suggest that the next motorcycle could be a completely different product, which could heavily draw inspiration from the bikemaker's staple cruiser lineage. Perhaps a properly retro cruiser rivaling the likes of the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 and the Honda H'Ness CB350.

Details about the upcoming motorcycle remain under tight wraps for now, but we can expect the same trellis frame with the similar 43mm USD forks and gas-charged pre-load adjustable twin shocks at the rear. The 440cc, single-cylinder powertrain will also make its appearance here, but with possible changes to its tuning.

Verdict
Given Harley-Davidson's cruiser motorcycle lineage, Hero MotoCorp could probably capitalize on it and bring a new single-cylinder cruiser motorcycle with a popular Harley nametag sold globally. However, this motorcycle is likely still some time away and may possibly make its debut sometime later this year or early next year.
