All-new 2020 Toyota Land Cruiser India Launch Timeline Revealed

Toyota Land Cruiser is one of the most popular luxury SUVs in India and around the world as well. The timeless design of the Toyota Land Cruiser has been around for years now. The current version of the Toyota Land Cruiser was first launched in 2007, and since then minor facelifted versions of the SUV were launched. The next-generation 300 series of the 2020 Toyota Land Cruiser will make its debut in August this year internationally, and soon after, the all-new SUV is expected to be launched in the Indian market.

The all-new Toyota Land Cruiser will get a new design; however, the body shell of the vehicle will not be much different from the current version. This has been done to keep the DNA alive. The all-new version of the Toyota Land Cruiser may get a new ladder-frame chassis. The new frame will increase the vehicle's dimensions, which in turn will increase the cabin space when compared to the current version.

The all-new 2020 Toyota Land Cruiser will get a new hybrid powertrain. The current monster V8 petrol engine will be phased out, and the new car will get a smaller and more efficient engine. The all-new Toyota Land Cruiser will get the 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine with a hybrid system from the Lexus LS500h. The same set-up generates a maximum power of 359 PS and 350 Nm of peak torque. The exact details for the upcoming Land Cruiser are not known, but it is expected to get a 10-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle will get a permanent four-wheel-drive system.

The current diesel engine that powers the Land Cruiser in India and abroad is not expected to power the next-generation Land Cruiser. The 4.5-litre V8 engine will be discontinued when the current model goes out of production.

Toyota will also refresh the cabin and feature list of the all-new Toyota Land Cruiser. However, with the new hybrid system and features, the price of the all-new Land Cruiser will be much higher than the current version of the car. The Toyota Land Cruiser is imported as a CBU to the Indian market, which is why the all-new model is expected to be launched soon after the international debut.
