What The BMW F 450 GS Brings To The Table

At the heart of the BMW F 450 GS is a newly developed 450cc, parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine producing 48 hp and 43 Nm of torque. This motor has been co-developed with TVS, underlining the ongoing collaboration between the two brands. The setup is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and features BMW's Quickshifter Pro, allowing seamless clutchless upshifts and downshifts. It gets a sculpted fuel tank, sharp side panels, and a distinctive beak-style front end. The headlamp cluster, inspired by the flagship BMW models, features a bold X-shaped DRL signature, while the sleek tail section complements its modern ADV styling.

Hardware & Features
The F 450 GS comes with a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel combination. Suspension duties are managed by 43mm USD forks at the front with adjustable preload and rebound, paired with a rear monoshock. At the same time, BMW claims a weight figure of 175 kg. In terms of equipment, the motorcycle comes loaded with a TFT display offering smartphone connectivity, along with features like an easy ride clutch, heated grips, and adjustable levers. Buyers will be able to choose between two colour options, Cosmic Black and Racing Red.

With the discontinuation of the G 310 GS, this new model effectively steps in as BMW's entry-level ADV in India, but with a significant upgrade in performance and features. It will rival established players in the mid-capacity adventure segment, bringing a mix of premium branding and improved capability.
Verdict
The BMW F 450 GS appears to be a well-rounded upgrade over its predecessor, bringing more performance, better hardware, and a richer feature set to the entry-level GS space. It targets riders who want a premium adventure motorcycle without stepping into higher price brackets. While pricing will ultimately determine its competitiveness, the overall package looks promising on paper.
