BYD India has revised the pricing of its premium electric SUV, the BYD Sealion 7, with effect from January 1, 2026. The update brings a Rs. 50,000 increase for the Premium variant, while the more powerful Performance trim continues to be offered at its existing price. What has Changed?

- Sealion 7 Premium: Price increased by Rs. 50,000 - from 48.90 lakh to 49.40 lakh (ex-showroom)
- Sealion 7 Performance: No change in pricing
Importantly, customers who placed their bookings on or before December 31, 2025, will receive their vehicles at the previous ex-showroom prices, ensuring cost protection for early buyers.
BYD Sealion 7: Why the Price Revision?

According to the company, the upward revision is linked to ongoing investments in advanced technology, safety systems, and customer experience infrastructure. BYD maintains that the update is aimed at sustaining long-term product value rather than altering the Sealion 7's positioning in the premium EV segment.
Strong Response Since Launch

Since entering the Indian market, the Sealion 7 has recorded over 2,300 unit sales, reflecting a growing appetite for premium electric SUVs. The model has also garnered multiple industry accolades, including recognition for battery technology and being named Luxury Mid-Size SUV.

The Sealion 7 is built on BYD's Cell-to-Body (CTB) architecture and uses the brand's Blade Battery, both designed to enhance safety, rigidity, and cabin space.

Customer Initiatives and Network

Alongside the price update, BYD continues its One BYD Infinite Connections programme, offering select customers a chance to visit the brand's NEV research and testing facilities in China. In India, BYD's footprint has expanded to 47 showrooms across 40 cities, supporting sales, service, and EV charging guidance.
