A few months ago, Hero MotoCorp updated its most affordable commuter with additional features. Here, we're referring to the 2022 Hero Splendor Plus Xtec model. The Splendor Plus Xtec is the Splendor with the most features that you can get. Although the bike has the same mechanicals and performance specifications, one significant alteration is the incorporation of new modern features. The pros and cons of the 2022 Hero Splendor Plus Xtec will be discussed in this post.

Fuel Efficient Engine
Hero Splendor Plus Xtec

The Splendor Plus Xtec variant continue to get the 97.2cc engine which produces 7.8 bhp of power and 8.02 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated with a 4-speed gearbox. This engine is known for is amazing fuel efficiency and till now the engine perform efficiently. With this engine the Splendor Plus Xtec easily gives 80 kmpl or more in city driving and 90 kmpl or above on highways.

New Features
Hero Splendor Plus Xtec

The addition of new features has made the Splendor Plus more appealing for the customers. The instrument cluster has been updated with an all-digital layout that can give a variety of information while the vehicle is in motion. Regular commuters will benefit from the fact that the MID now shows instantaneous fuel efficiency. The Xtec also includes Bluetooth connectivity, which makes it easier for the rider to see call and message notifications. To accommodate modern customers, Hero has also added a USB charger.

Hero Splendor Plus Xtec

The Splendor is renowned for providing its riders with an incredibly smooth ride and a massive amount of comfort. Two adults can comfortably fit on the long, flat seat. With a kerb weight of 112 kg, it is quite maneuverable in busy traffic. Any sort of road and undulations can be easily handled by the suspension configuration. Without causing the user any problems, it comfortably navigates through traffic and rolls over common potholes. The bike is convenient for both everyday office runs and long-distance travel.

Cons

Brakes

Drum brakes are still used to stop the motorcycle, and they don't always work well. Hero has provided a combined braking system for better stopping power, enabling the bike to plunge linearly into the brakes. If Hero had offered front disc brakes as an additional, the braking could have been improved.

Price

With the additional capabilities, the Hero Splendor Plus Xtec is now more expensive than its competitors. The cost of the Splendor Plus in its Xtec variation is Rs 76,346. (ex-showroom, Delhi). On the other side, competitors like the TVS Radeon are priced starting at Rs. 60,925. (ex-showroom).

Verdict

Hero Splendor is a market leader and continues to offer the greatest performance for daily riders. Although the bike has increased in price, the new features make it better and more tempting to customers. If you choose to purchase a 100cc bike, the engine is still a fantastic fuel-efficient option.
