Distinctively, however, Ducati's approach appears to favor a hydraulically controlled mechanism, a departure from Honda's cable-operated setup. The patents detail two primary versions of this transmission, both sharing core components such as a computer-control unit, an electromechanical actuator, and a unique spinning threaded rod integrated into a ball screw assembly, suggesting a design intended for straightforward integration into existing motorcycles equipped with hydraulic clutches.
