Though the EV ecosystem is still in a nascent stage in our country, people have now started considering affordable personal electric mobility solutions for their intra-city commutes. Thus, here we have listed the Top Five Best Electric Two-wheelers that are currently on sale in India.
Ather 450X is undeniably the best electric two-wheeler currently on sale in the Indian market. The Ather 450X gets a 2.61 kWh lithium-ion battery. It is coupled with an electric motor that churns out 8.15 PS of power and 26 Nm of peak torque. This electric scooter does 0-40 kmph in just 3.4 seconds and the top speed is rated at 80 kmph. The Ather 450X has four riding modes. They are Eco, Ride, Sports and Warp. The company claims a riding range of 70 kilometres per charge in Ride mode while in the Eco mode, it can go up to 85 kilometres on a single charge. It takes around 5 hours 45 minutes to fully juice up its battery. The price of the Ather 450X starts at Rs. 1.35 lakhs (non-subscription plan) and Rs. 85,000 (subscription plan). All prices stick to Ex-showroom Delhi.
Bajaj Chetak was the first electric scooter from a mainstream two-wheeler manufacturer in India. The Bajaj Chetak gets a 3 kWh lithium-ion battery. The Li-ion battery comes paired with an electric motor that churns out 6 PS of power and 16 Nm of peak torque. The Chetak gets two riding modes - Eco and Sport. In Sport mode, the electric scooter delivers a claimed range of 85 kilometres per charge while in the Eco mode, it can run 95 kilometres on a single charge. It takes around five hours to fully charge its battery. The Bajaj Chetak electric scooter is currently priced in India between Rs. 1.42 lakhs - Rs. 1.44 lakhs, Ex-showroom Delhi.
Next in the listicle, we have the TVS iQube. The iQube is the first electric scooter from the house of this Madras-based Indian two-wheeler maker. The TVS iQube gets a 2.25 kWh lithium-ion battery and it comes paired with an electric motor. This electric motor churns out 5.9 PS of power and 33 Nm of peak torque. It has a claimed top speed of 78 kmph and does 0-40 kmph in around 4.2 seconds. The iQube gets two riding modes. They are Economy and Power. TVS claims a range of around 75 kilometres on a single charge and it can be fully charged in around 4 hours and 30 minutes. The new TVS iQube is currently priced at Rs. 1.15 lakhs, on-the-road (OTR) Bengaluru.
Okinawa is a popular e-scooter maker in India. The company's new electric scooter - Okinawa I-Praise gets a 1000 watt BLDC electric motor that churns out a maximum power output of 2.5 kW (3.39 PS) and a good amount of torque (exact figure not officially revealed). The new Okinawa I-Praise gets a 3.3 kWh lithium-ion battery that can be fully charged in around 4-5 hours. The company claims that once it is fully juiced up, the electric scooter can run up to 139 kilometres on a single charge. It also has multiple riding modes and application-based connectivity features. The Okinawa I-Praise electric scooter is currently priced at Rs. 1.08 lakhs, Ex-showroom Delhi.
Finally, at number five in this listicle, we have the Revolt RV 400. The new Revolt RV 400 gets a 3kW electric motor that has a peak power output of 3000 watts (around 4 PS) and the top speed is rated at 80 kmph. It gets three different Riding Modes - Eco, City and Sport. The electric motorcycle comes coupled to a 72-volt 3.24 kWh lithium-ion battery. It has an ARAI-certified range of 156 kilometres on a single charge. The company claims that it can be fully juiced up in just 4.5 hours via a regular charger. The Revolt RV 400 is offered with MRP or My Revolt Plan. The RV 400 gets two monthly plans: one that costs Rs. 3,499/month while the top-spec plan costs Rs. 3,999/month. These monthly charges have to be paid for 37 months and it covers service costs, insurance and registration.
