Ford India has confirmed that it is working on launching a number of products in the Indian market from its international portfolio. These new vehicles to be launched in India include Ford Focus ST, Ford Focus, and the Ford Raptor pickup truck. All these vehicles are expected to be launched next year and are expected to be imported to the country via the CBU (Completely Built Unit) route. In addition to this, the brand will also be launching a number of other products which will be co-developed with Mahindra under the JV which was signed between the two brands.
Starting with the Ford Focus, the model which will be brought to India made its debut in the international market in 2018 and competes against the VW Golf in the European market. The Focus sits above the Fiesta in Ford's global line-up and measures 4361 mm in length while the wheelbase measurement stands at 2649 mm. The car gets two engine options - 1.0-L EcoBoost three-cylinder turbo-petrol and a 2.0-L direct-injected turbo-petrol. The maximum power output from the 1.0-L and the 2.0-L engine stands at 125 ps and 160 Ps respectively.

The Ford Focus ST, on the other hand, is the performance-oriented version of the Focus and hosts a number of changes which differentiates it from the standard Focus. For starters, the car is powered by a 2.3-L EcoBoost engine which delivers 280 Ps and 420 Nm and comes mated to a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed automatic gearbox. The manual variant of the vehicle completes a 0-100 kmph run in just 5.7 secs while the automatic variant delivers a 0-100 kmph timing of 6 secs. We are expecting the price of the Ford Focus ST to stand around Rs 45 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Ford Focus ST is one of the best hot-hatchbacks that have been ever launched in the market and comes with a number of changes which justifies its high price whence compared to the Focus standard. To begin with, the car gets 19-inch wheels while the standard Focus comes with 16-inch wheels. In addition, the ST model gets sportier-looking exteriors and interiors in addition to other mechanical changes which were introduced to the car in favour of better performance.
