Kia Seltos: New GTX(O) and X-Line(O) Variants To Offer New Features

The upcoming GTX(O) and X-Line(O) trims of the Kia Seltos are likely to build upon the existing GTX and X-Line variants by adding feature-focused upgrades rather than mechanical changes. These versions are expected to sit slightly above their standard counterparts in pricing but will remain positioned below the fully loaded ADAS-equipped variants. One of the key highlights could be the introduction of a head-up display (HUD), a feature that was showcased earlier but never made it to the India-spec model. Another addition expected is a dashboard camera, which may be offered alongside it. By packaging such features under optional trims, Kia could simplify the buying process for customers who want more tech without stepping into the highest price bracket.

While the new variants are expected to add features, they will retain the core design and equipment of the GTX and X-Line trims. The GTX variant already offers a premium experience with elements like LED projector headlamps, 18-inch alloy wheels, and a powered driver's seat with memory and lumbar support. On the other hand, the X-Line trim focuses more on visual distinction, featuring matte-finish paint options, dark-themed styling, and exclusive cosmetic elements such as blacked-out alloys and unique interior finishes, but with the exact same feature list as the GTX. These characteristics are expected to carry forward into the new optional variants, ensuring continuity in styling and appeal.

Safety & Platform Strength

The Seltos has recently strengthened its position in the segment by securing a 5-star rating under Bharat NCAP. It scored 31.70 out of 32 in adult occupant protection and 45 out of 49 in child occupant protection, making it one of the safest SUVs in its class. Built on Kia's advanced K3 platform, the SUV benefits from improved structural integrity and a comprehensive safety package. Standard safety features include six airbags, electronic stability control, hill-start assist, all-wheel disc brakes, tyre pressure monitoring system, ADAS, and more.
Verdict
The addition of GTX(O) and X-Line(O) variants reflects Kia's strategy of fine-tuning the Seltos lineup to meet customer expectations and retain the freshness. Instead of a major overhaul, the brand is focusing on introducing meaningful feature upgrades that enhance convenience and technology. Combined with its strong safety credentials and established market presence, the Seltos continues to remain a well-rounded package. If priced smartly, these new variants could further boost its appeal among buyers looking for a premium yet practical compact SUV.
