Hyundai Venue: Crash Test Scores & Overall Performance

The Hyundai Venue delivered an impressive performance across both adult and child occupant protection categories. It secured 31.15 out of 32 points for adult occupant protection (AOP) and 44.46 out of 49 points for child occupant protection (COP), placing it among the highest scorers in its class. The tests were conducted on the HX2 diesel manual and HX10 diesel automatic variants, although the rating extends across the entire lineup, including the sportier N Line versions. In the frontal offset deformable barrier test, the Venue scored 15.15 out of 16 points, indicating strong protection levels for most critical body areas. The side impact performance was particularly noteworthy, with the Venue scoring a perfect 16 out of 16 points in the movable barrier test.

When it comes to child safety, the Venue posted equally strong results. It scored highly in dynamic crash tests as well as child restraint system installation. The SUV managed near-perfect scores for both 18-month-old and 3-year-old child dummies in frontal and side impact scenarios. The CRS installation test returned full marks, reflecting ease of use and compatibility with child seats. However, a few points were lost in the overall vehicle assessment category, mainly due to limitations like the absence of ISOFIX mounts in certain seating positions.

Safety Features & Updated Platform
A major contributor to the Venue's performance is its updated platform. Built on an improved version of Hyundais global K1 architecture, the SUV uses a higher proportion of high-strength and ultra-high-strength steel. This results in a more rigid and stable structure during impacts, which plays a crucial role in achieving high safety scores. The increased structural strength not only improves crash protection but also enhances overall durability and driving confidence. The strong crash test performance is backed by an extensive list of safety features. The Venue comes equipped with six airbags as standard, along with electronic stability control, hill-start assist, tyre pressure monitoring system, and rear parking sensors. Higher variants further enhance safety with features such as a 360-degree camera, electronic parking brake with auto-hold, and Level 2 ADAS.
