The Hero Xtreme 160R is one of the best selling bikes in the brand's portfolio and with the onset of the festive season, the brand has introduced a special edition of this model. Named as the Hero Xtreme 160R Stealth Edition, this new variant offers a number of new features and refreshed looks. With the Hero Xtreme 160R Stealth Edition price starting from INR 1.16 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the bike takes on rivals like TVS Apache RTR 160 4V and the Bajaj Pulsar NS160. For starters, the new Hero Xtreme 160R Stealth Edition features a new matte black colour scheme with bright red inserts which gives it an attractive look. Moreover, the bike gets new LED winkers along with an updated speedometer console. The updated speedometer now gets a new gear position indicator and LCD brightness adjustment features. Apart from this, the Hero Xtreme 160R Stealth Edition also gets a side-stand engine cut-off feature that is missing from the standard model. In addition to all these updates, the Hero Xtreme 160 R Stealth Edition also gets an integrated USB charger. Features like LED headlights, fuel injection, LED DRLs, dual-disc brake setup, etc too are on offer.

No significant changes have been made to the powertrain and other mechanical components. The same 160 cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder motor continues to power the bike. This engine churns out 15 bhp and 14 Nm of peak torque. Just like before, a five-speed gearbox comes mated to this motor. The refinement and fuel efficiency delivered by this engine is impressive and you will definitely appreciate its in-city riding experience. The gearbox is smooth to operate and the clutch too is light enough to keep you happy inside the city. Both, the front as well as the rear wheels get disc brakes but ABS is only available for the front brakes.

The bike also retains its underpinnings and rides on a lightweight rigid diamond frame setup. At the front, it gets 37mm telescopic forks while a 7-step adjustable mono-shock suspension setup is seen at the rear. The ride-handling combination is impressive and the bike is extremely agile, thus making it a great choice for riding enthusiasts. The ground clearance of 165mm too remains unchanged and the bike is claimed to achieve a speed of 60 kmph from a standstill in a segment-best time of just 4.7 secs!
