Honda CB200X vs Honda Hornet 2.0 Comparison - Which One to Pick?

Considering production and sales, the Indian two-wheeler industry is the largest in the world. Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) is one of the oldest players in the two-wheeler industry. It recently launched a new 200cc city commuter, CB200X, an entry-level ADV that shares plenty of specifications with Hornet 2.0. HMSI in 2020 revamped its Hornet 160 and replaced it with Hornet 2.0. Here is our Honda CB200X vs Honda Hornet 2.0 Comparison to help you make a more informed decision.

Honda CB200X vs Honda Hornet 2.0 Comparison - Features

Honda CB200X has an urban explorer design that offers tall wind visors ensuring enhanced aerodynamics with a comfortable ride. The bike is built on a diamond type steel frame and is a testament to the strength and backbone behind your passion for biking.

The bike comes equipped with an all-LED lighting package, lightweight and strong alloy wheels, first-in-segment knuckle covers with LED winkers, long and comfortable split seat, an under-cowl for stylish looks and better aerodynamics.

Coming on to CB200X technology, it offers dynamic performance with fuel efficiency and power, and displays powerful torque characteristics. All these features give CB200X a proper ADV feel.

Now, let's take a look at the list of features Honda is offering with its other 200cc motorcycle, the Hornet 2.0. The HMSI with its Hornet 2.0 offers an aggressive tank design, a full-LED package that includes headlamps, tail lamps, and turn indicators.

CB200X is an entry-level ADV made to explore and Hornet 2.0 is a street naked sporty motorcycle. Rajiv Sethu, Honda Racing India Champion, said that Hornet is a fierce machine that will keep you ahead of others and is a manifestation of stype, power and safety.

Honda Hornet 2.0 launched in 2020 is priced at Rs 1,32,238 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and Honda CB200X is priced at Rs 1,44,500 (ex-showroom, Delhi). There is a difference of Rs 12,262 between the two motorcycles.

Verdict

Honda is the worlds largest manufacturer of two-wheelers in India. Honda recently launched the concept of BigWing stores in India in some cities. Motorcycles like CB350, CB500X, CB650R, CBR650R, and other sporty, expensive commuters are available at these stores only. Whereas, entry-level motorcycles and scooters will be available across every dealership.

With the help of this comparison, it is clear that both the motorcycles are similar in terms of specifications, features and technology. The difference can only be spotted in the design language, dimensions and of course the pricing. If someone like me is interested in opting for a 200cc motorcycle, I would consider Hornet 2.0 not just because it is cheaper than CB200X but due to its riding posture and fun to ride factor.
