Honda CB500 Bookings Open, Prices To Come Out Soon

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India recently showcased a wide lineup of scooters and motorcycles that are set to be launched in India in the coming months. While the brand has not revealed the launch timeline for any of these models, the lineup included several interesting two-wheelers, one of which was the CB500 retro roadster. Now, even before Honda has made any official announcement, unofficial bookings for the Honda CB500 have reportedly started at select BigWing dealerships across the country. The Honda CB500 is the elder sibling of the CB350, which is already on sale in the Indian market, and its official launch is expected to take place soon.

Honda CB500

The newly unveiled CB500 boasts a retro design with clean body lines and a minimalist design language. The front features a round headlamp similar to the CB350. The side profile also carries a minimalist design, with a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, a ribbed single seat for both the rider and pillion, a taillamp similar to the CB350, and round LED turn signals.

The motorcycle's mechanical setup includes telescopic front forks with fork gaiters, dual spring shock absorbers at the rear, a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel with spoke rims, and disc brakes at both ends.

In terms of features, the CB500 is quite modern. It comes with a semi-digital instrument cluster to maintain the motorcycle's retro appeal, along with Honda RoadSync connectivity, Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), dual-channel ABS, and other features. The motorcycle will be available in three variants: Alloy, Spoke Tubeless, and Spoke Tubeless with Graphics.

Honda CB500

On the engine front, the Honda CB500 is powered by a 501 cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 27.76 bhp and 43.3 Nm of peak torque. It is paired with a 5-speed gearbox along with an assist and slipper clutch. What could give Honda an edge over its parallel-twin rival, the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, is the reliability of Honda engines and the brand's solid build quality.
