Honda Civic BS6 Diesel Vs Hyundai Elantra Diesel BS6 - Engine

Powering the Honda Civic is the 1.6-L i-DTEC motor that churns out 120 Ps and 300 Nm of maximum torque. This engine comes mated only to a 6-Speed MT and has a strong low-end and mid-range. Driving this car in the city traffic is an easy affair, all thanks to its light clutch and the slick-shifting gearbox but if you are someone who is looking for an auto gearbox, you will have to look for something else. With this being said, the engine is powerful but is a little too loud and lacks in the overall refinement department.

The Hyundai Elantra, on the other hand, gets a 1.5-L diesel engine which also powers the Verna and Creta in addition to the Seltos. this engine churns out 115 PS of maximum power while peak torque output is rated to be 250 Nm. This engine is supremely refined and smooth and can be had with a 6-Speed MT or a 6-Speed AT. While the performance from this motor may not match the Civic's engine, it surely wins in the overall driveability and refinement levels.
