2026 Renault Duster
The return of the Renault Duster marks a critical step in Renault India efforts to re-establish its presence in the highly competitive mid-size SUV segment. Once credited with shaping the category in India, the Duster nameplate still carries strong recall, and the new-generation model appears to be leveraging that legacy effectively, with encouraging initial market response.

As part of its broader customer-centric approach, Renault has also introduced the "Renault Forever" program, offering extended warranty coverage of up to 7 years or 150,000 km. This move is expected to enhance ownership confidence and strengthen the model's overall value proposition. Renault also used the opportunity to inaugurate its latest new'R store on Mount Road, Chennai. This 1S facility spans 4,500 sq. ft., with a dedicated 3,000 sq. ft. area for vehicle display and customer interaction.
Strong Sales Momentum
The rollout of the new Duster comes at a favourable time for Renault India, which has been witnessing a notable uptick in performance. The company reported a 77% year-on-year growth in March 2026, supported by steady demand for products such as the Renault Kiger and Renault Triber, along with growing anticipation around the Duster's comeback.

An overview of the car: it is available with two engine options - a 1.0L three-cylinder turbo-petrol and a 1.3L four-cylinder turbo-petrol. Gearbox options include a 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, and a 6-speed DCT with a wet clutch. Moreover, the SUV can be chosen in a total of five variants, with pricing as follows:
| Variants | 1.0L turbo (MT) | 1.3L turbo (6-MT) | 1.3L turbo (6-DCT) |
| Authentic | Rs 10.49 lakh | --- | --- |
| Evolution | Rs 11.69 lakh | Rs 12.99 lakh | Rs 14.49 lakh |
| Techno | Rs 13.49 lakh | Rs 14.49 lakh | Rs 15.89 lakh |
| Techno + | --- | Rs 15.29 lakh | Rs 16.69 lakh |
| Iconic | --- | Rs 16.99 lakh | Rs 18.49 lakh |

Verdict
Overall, the Renault Duster makes a strong case with its familiar nameplate, practical powertrain options, and a mix of manual and automatic gearboxes catering to varied buyers. It balances performance and everyday usability well, while the extended warranty program adds to its ownership appeal.
That said, its real-world success will depend on how it stacks up against increasingly feature-rich and tech-loaded rivals in the segment. As it stands, the new Duster appears to be a well-rounded offering, but not necessarily a segment disruptor.
