
Hyundai Kona EV sets a new Guinness world record by driving to the highest altitude ever by an electric vehicle. The Hyundai Kona EV embarked its journey under "Emission Impossible Mission" and touched an altitude of 5731 meters which is now the highest done by an electric vehicle. In terms of feet, this stands at almost 19000 feet above mean sea level!

The previous record was posted at 5715.28 meters and Kona defeated it by 16 meters. During the entire drive, Hyundai Kona was charged with a portable charger to show the robustness of their technology and reliability. Kona was driven in very harsh conditions with continuous snowfall, low temperatures and icy tarmacs. The Electronic Stability Control (ESC) of the Kona worked brilliantly during the travel and tackled the slippery surfaces easily.

Hyundai Kona was Charged overnight with its portable charger and reported no issues in charging even in low temperatures and the regenerative braking helped the battery to get charged on descending. Kona proved its go-anywhere capability and reliability on this epic drive. People usual have a concern about EVs' reliability and uncertain range but Kona proved them wrong with its finesse engineering.

Hyundai Kona EV is powered by an ARAI certified range of 452 km on a single charge. Kona EV can be charged with a fast charger from 0-80% in just 57 minutes meanwhile the 7.2 kW wall charger takes 6 hours for a full charge. Powering the Kona EV is a 39.2 kWh battery pack throwing 136 ps and 395 Nm of torque to the front wheels. Hyundai also offers 8 years/1.6 lakh km warranty for the battery and 3 years unlimited kilometres warranty for the vehicle.
