Jeep Wrangler Willys '41 Edition Makes A Return With More Equipment

Based on the top-spec Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, the Willys '41 Special Edition distinguishes itself primarily through cosmetic enhancements and curated accessories. The highlight is the exclusive '41 Green' exterior paint, inspired by the military green finish of the original Willys MB. A '1941' hood decal commemorates the year when the Willys MB, the military-spec Jeep that cemented the brand's legacy, began mass production. While the heritage shade remains the visual centrepiece, buyers can also opt for standard Wrangler colours such as Firecracker Red, Black, Bright White, Anvil Clear Coat, and Billet.

The Willys 41 Edition comes equipped with standard accessories worth approximately Rs 2 lakh. These include powered side steps, new interior grab handles, all-weather floor mats, and front and rear dashcams, practical additions that complement its off-road credentials. For those looking for a more expedition-ready look, Jeep offers an optional accessory package priced at Rs 3.6 lakh. This bundle includes a roof carrier with an integrated side ladder and a Sunrider rooftop setup. Notably, the optional package is reportedly more affordable than last year's offering.

Engine & Performance

Mechanically, the Wrangler Willys 41 Edition remains unchanged. It continues to be powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine producing 272 hp and 400 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and Jeep's standard 4x4 drivetrain. With 41 units allocated this time, the SUV balances exclusivity with slightly broader availability compared to its previous run.
Verdict
By combining the Rubicon's proven off-road hardware with heritage-inspired detailing like the exclusive '41 Green' paint and 1941 hood decal, Jeep has created a version that speaks directly to brand loyalists and collectors. The lower price compared to its previous outing makes it more attractive, yet the limited 41-unit allocation preserves exclusivity. For enthusiasts who value authenticity, legacy, and serious trail capability, this Willys edition offers a distinctive slice of Jeep history wrapped in a thoroughly modern off-roader.
