KTM Duke 790 now gets Extended Warranty for 2 years at a cost of ₹4000

Duke 790 was one of India's better-selling middleweight sports bikes. For most existing KTM owners, it was an ideal upgrade for them as they didn't have to look for options elsewhere. Thus in order to consolidate the trust of the owners, KTM has equipped the Duke 790 with an extended warranty for 2 years/ 30,000 km at a cost of 94000.

KTM India spoke to owners and then acted upon the feedback offered by them. Post the feedback of the owners, they came up with the extended warranty package which offers an additional 2 years or 30k km over the existing standard warranty coverage. This means that for a nominal price of 94000, Duke 790 owners can effectively have warranty coverage of 4 years or 60,000 km on their bikes.

As is the case with all sorts of extended warranties, there are various terms and conditions that need to be adhered to. For instance, all services should be done at authorised KTM workshops only. Also, it must be noted that the warranty is transferrable only if sold to an individual and not to an authorised dealer. If the latter happens, the warranty stands to be cancelled.

Another important point to be noted is that the extended warranty must be purchased within 730 days (2 years) from the date of purchase. Further discounts on the warranty pricing will be offered to the customers who purchase it within 180 days of their purchase.

The BS4 iteration of the Duke 790 was powered by a 799 cc in-line twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that dished out 105 hp and 87 Nm of torque. A 6-speed transmission was mated to the motor by means of a slipper clutch. The motorcycle also offered four riding modes and switchable cornering ABS and traction control.
