Mahindra XUV700 Facelift: New Steering Wheel, & More

Mahindra's highly popular XUV700 is poised for a significant refresh, as new spy shots reveal more than just minor exterior tweaks. The latest glimpses of the facelifted 3-door SUV during its testing phase indicate a substantial overhaul, particularly within the cabin. It appears Mahindra is drawing inspiration from its electric counterpart, the XEV 9e, to elevate the XUV700's interior experience. This is the second time the test mule has been spied in quick succession.

The upcoming Mahindra XUV700 facelift is set to revolutionize its cabin where a triple-screen dashboard layout can be noticed peeking from inside the cabin, directly channeling the futuristic tech from the Mahindra XEV 9e. Expect a unified display featuring a dedicated digital instrument cluster, a generously sized central infotainment hub, and a fascinating individual screen for the co-passenger. Although the debate on too many screens seems to have equal weight on both sides, the XUV700 is ready to embrace it with the update.
Mahindra isn't stopping at just design and digital upgrades. The facelifted XUV700 is anticipated to debut with a suite of new features aimed at bolstering comfort, convenience, and connectivity. Top of the wishlist for many will be rear ventilated seats, offering a much-needed luxury for occupants in hotter climates. Furthermore, while details are sparse, expect potential upgrades or refinements to its Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), solidifying the XUV700's position as a technology and safety leader in its segment.

Engine And Specs
The Mahindra XUV700 offers a strong lineup of engine options: a 2.0-liter turbo-petrol pushing out 200 hp and 380 Nm, and a 2.2-liter diesel available in two tunes - 155 hp/360 Nm or a more powerful 185 hp/420 Nm (450 Nm with auto). Both can be had with either a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission. Interestingly, its ARAI-certified mileage figures, revealed almost three years post-launch, show the petrol manual at 13.0 kmpl and auto at 12.2 kmpl, while the diesel shines at 16.4 kmpl for the manual and 15.5 kmpl for the automatic. While it may not seem much on paper, for a big-sized SUV, the mileage figures are pretty good.
Verdict
The facelift makes sense at this point with a lot of units already plying on roads, the customers would want something differntiating for a fresh appeal. While the SUV is already pretty loaded in terms of saftey and the features on board, the latest Mahindra EV's even more futuristic cabin will be inspiring this new update, which can be good for some, while others might find it too flashy.
