Maruti Suzuki India has rolled out a new pre-paid maintenance program called the Smart Maintenance Plan (SMP), aimed at giving owners a more predictable and budget-friendly after-sales experience. Flexible Plans to Choose From
Buyers can opt for SMP either at the time of purchasing their vehicle or later, during a visit to any authorised Maruti Suzuki service centre. The plan comes in several configurations to suit different usage patterns, including Labour-only, Parts and Labour, Commercial Vehicle Minor Services, Customer Demanded Services, and Engine Oil and Coolant packages. For added peace of mind, customers also have the option of wear-and-tear coverage on components like the clutch and brake assembly.
Savings and Inflation Protection
According to Maruti Suzuki, opting for SMP can help customers save at least 10 percent on labour charges, along with further savings on parts and consumables. Perhaps the bigger draw, though, is that the plan locks in service costs against future price hikes, meaning customers won't have to worry about rising maintenance bills down the line.

Tenure and Mileage Options
SMP is offered across multiple tenure and mileage brackets to match different ownership timelines. Private vehicle owners can choose from 2-year/20,000 km, 5-year/50,000 km, and even 10-year/100,000 km plans, while commercial vehicle owners get access to a 10-year/160,000 km option. Importantly, the plan has pan-India validity, so customers can get their car serviced at any authorised Maruti Suzuki workshop across the country, regardless of where the plan was originally purchased.
Speaking on the launch, Mr. Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director & CEO, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, "Since inception, our focus has been to deliver complete peace of mind and a truly joyful ownership experience to our customers. As customer expectations continue to evolve towards greater flexibility and personalised solutions, we are introducing the Smart Maintenance Plan. It is a prepaid service offering designed around individual driving needs. Customers can customise service packages while also protect themselves from future fluctuations in service costs by locking in maintenance expenses. Through this initiative, we aim to further enhance convenience, trust and long-term value for our customers."
With the Smart Maintenance Plan, Maruti Suzuki is clearly looking to strengthen its after-sales ecosystem at a time when ownership costs are becoming an increasingly important factor for car buyers. By offering this level of customisation and cost predictability, the carmaker is betting that a worry-free service experience will translate into stronger brand loyalty over the long run.
