MG ZS EV Scheduled To Launch On January 27; Bookings Close Tomorrow

MG Motor India is readying itself for the ZS EV launch on January 27. This is also the day when pricing will be announced. The second car from the MG Motor garage is full-electric and will take on the Hyundai Kona in the battle of mid-size premium e-SUVs. Upon its launch, MG ZS EV will come in two trims - Excite and Exclusive. The electric SUV sees a lot of features like a large panoramic sunroof, 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, Electronic parking brake, Heated ORVMs, Six-way power-adjustable driver's seat, PM 2.5 Air Filter, Rain sensing wipers, Start/Stop button with Keyless Entry and among others.

Safety features too on the electric SUV is top-notch as it gets Six-airbags, Tyre pressure monitoring system, Hill descent control, Hill-start assist, Rear parking camera, Rear parking sensors, ISOFIX mount child seats, ABS with EBD, Rear parking sensors, Front and rear seatbelt reminder, Electronic Stability Control and Brake Assist.

In terms of powertrain, the MG ZS EV gets a 44.5 kWh battery pack which gets a 340 km driving range. The battery pack might be larger but it is the Hyundai Kona which displaces more driving range at 452 km. The power figure sticks to 143 bhp on tap and the peak torque is 354 Nm. The 0-100km/h sprint can be achieved in a mere 8.5 seconds.

MG Motor India will also install fast chargers at select dealerships and the electric SUV can be charged from 0-80% in just 50 minutes. The manufacturer will also install 7.4 kWh charger for home or offices. The battery can be juiced from 0-100% in just 6-8 hours with this one.

We already mentioned the bookings for the MG ZS EV which have started at a premium of Rs 50,000. This amount is fully refundable. Also, if you want to book the electric SUV then now is the time as the bookings close on 17 January 2020. The prices of the ZS EV are yet to be revealed but we expect it to stick between Rs 19 lakh and going upwards till Rs 21 lakh. All prices stick to ex-showroom, Delhi.
