Next Gen Skoda Superb New Details Emerge: India Bound In 2024

Skoda is conducting tests of its upcoming Skoda Superb model in various regions, including India, where the carmaker's facility has been utilized for testing. Recently, a test mule of the sedan is seen doing laps at the renowned Nurburgring race track. The global unveiling of the new Superb is taking place in November 2023. For the Indian debut, you need to wait till 2024. And with these spottings, new details have emerged.

2024 Skoda Superb In Pictures

The heavy camouflage full-body wrap of the upcoming Skoda Superb conceals the evolutionary changes in the sedan. Despite the disguise, some key design updates can be deduced from the spy images.

At the front, the car appears to feature a restyled bumper with vertical slits located at the extreme edges. The grille has also been revised, and LED-connected lighting is expected to be incorporated into the new design.

On the side profile, a noticeable change is the repositioning of the character line, adding a refreshed look to the sedan. Additionally, the vehicle will roll on a fresh set of alloy wheels, enhancing its overall appearance.

Moving to the rear, the bumper is undergoing alterations, and a dual exhaust system is coming with it as well, accentuating the car's sportiness. The taillamps also receive a new design, complementing the headlamp setup and presenting a unified appearance.

Moreover, spy images of the Combi model suggest that both the sedan and the Combi variant will undergo dimensional changes, potentially offering improved interior space and overall comfort. However, the combi variant will not be coming to Indian soil.

Next Gen Skoda Superb: Engine Details And Features

The upcoming Skoda Superb is coming with a variety of powertrains, including a mild-hybrid 1.5-liter engine (148 hp), a 2.0-liter petrol engine (201 hp for FWD, 261 hp for AWD), and a diesel engine (148 hp for FWD, 190 hp for AWD). The Superb iV plug-in hybrid continues with a 1.5-liter engine and a larger 25.7-kilowatt-hour battery, providing 201 horsepower and over 62 miles of all-electric range. However, which options will come to India is still not clear.

Coming inside, Skoda is revamping the cabin for the fourth-generation model, but clear images are not available yet. Expectations include repositioning the gear selector to the steering column and upgrading the infotainment system with a larger display while retaining some manual controls for convenience. All in all, it keeps its premium segment justified with the upcoming tech boost.
