Royal Enfield is a very popular two-wheeler manufacturer in the Indian market. The company launched the all-new Royal Enfield Meteor 350 in India in November 2020. The Meteor 350 was a very big launch from the company after a really long time. It became an instant hit and now garners good sales numbers for the company. So, today in this article, we have listed for you the Pros and Cons of the new 2021 Royal Enfield Meteor 350 BS6.
Multiple Variants and Colour Shades on Offer - The new Royal Enfield Meteor 350 is available in three variants. They are base-spec Fireball, mid-spec Stellar and the top of the line variant is called Supernova. All three variants have a distinct appeal. The Fireball variant is available in two solid gloss colour shades - Yellow and Red. The Stellar trim is available in three colour options - Gloss Metallic Red, Gloss Metallic Blue and Matte Black. The Supernova variant is available in two colour shades - Blue and Brown.
Engine Performance - The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 is powered by an all-new J-series engine. It is a new BS6-compliant 349cc, single-cylinder, air and oil-cooled engine and it gets an electronic fuel-injection system. This motor churns out 20.2 PS of power at 6100 RPM and 27 Nm of peak torque at 4000 RPM. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. The new mill of the Meteor 350 offers good performance and Royal Enfield also claims that the engine has a balancer shaft to reduce vibrations to a great extent.
A Feature-Loaded RE - The Meteor 350 is a very feature-loaded motorcycle, considering it is an RE. It is the most technologically advanced Royal Enfield motorcycle we have ever seen to date! It gets a twin-pod instrument cluster, one of them is an analogue cluster with a small MID in between. The main cluster displays gear-position indicator, service reminder, fuel bar graph, clock etc. Then, we have the Tripper navigation pod and it is powered by Google. It is compatible with Royal Enfield's mobile application with the help of Bluetooth connectivity and gets turn-by-turn navigation, etc.
Very Comfortable Machine - The new Royal Enfield Meteor 350 is a very comfortable motorcycle. Talking about its hardware, it is based on RE's new J1D platform and gets a new twin downtube spine frame. The suspension duties are performed by 41 mm telescopic forks at the front and at the rear, it gets dual spring-loaded shock absorbers with 6-step adjustable preload.
Price - The new Royal Enfield Meteor 350 has been priced quite well. The Fireball variant is currently priced at Rs. 1.85 lakhs, Stellar variant is priced at Rs. 1.90 lakhs and Supernova variant is priced at Rs. 1.99 lakhs. All prices stick to Ex-showroom Delhi.
No LEDs - Let's now have a look at some of its negatives. The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 doesn't get LEDs at all, except for daytime-running LED and a LED ring around the taillamp. RE should have given LEDs for the headlamp.
Brakes Could Have Been Better - The Meteor 350 gets disc brakes at either end. At the front, it gets a 300 mm disc while the rear one is a 270 mm unit. It gets dual-channel ABS too. However, the braking performance isn't upto the mark and it could have been better.
No Spoke Wheels - The new Royal Enfield Meteor 350 gets alloy wheels with tubeless tyres. The front tyre of the motorcycle measures 100/90-19 while at the rear, it gets a 140/70-section 17-inch unit. The RE Meteor 350 doesn't get spoke wheels at all, not even as an option.
Pillion Comfort - The pillion comfort of the Meteor 350 isn't that good. The pillion seat is quite small and there isn't much room for the passenger.
