Skoda Karoq Vs Volkswagen T-Roc : Design and Dimensions
Talking about the Karoq first, it seems like a junior Kodiaq. The looks are heavily inspired by the Kodiaq and it looks elegant. The smooth flowing lines give it a mature appeal which is missing in the T-Roc. The inverted C-shaped taillights look great on the Karoq. Coming to the design of the T-Roc, it is a funky-looking crossover. The proportions aren't huge and there are a lot of design elements which makes it quirky - Be it the LED DRLs or the honed-out lines and curves. In comparison, the Karoq feels pleasant to the eyes and attracts eyeballs thanks to its understated elegance.

| Dimensions | Skoda Karoq | Volkswagen T-Roc |
| Length | 4382mm | 4342mm |
| Width | 1841mm | 1819mm |
| Height | 1624mm | 1573mm |
| Wheelbase | 2638mm | 2590mm |
| Boot space | 521 Litres | 445 Litres |
The sheet says it all. The Karoq is bigger in every dimension and of course the bigger car here. The Karoq is also the widest car in its segment making it a very spacious car on the inside. It is family-friendly too, thanks to its massive 521 litres of boot space. The 48mm wheelbase advantage makes the Karoq more spacious than the T-Roc. Although the differences aren't huge, even a few inches makes a whole lot of difference on the inside. So the Karoq is the winner in terms of design and dimensions. Although the design is subjective.

Skoda Karoq Vs Volkswagen T-Roc : Features and Safety
Talking about the Skoda Karoq first, it is loaded with features to the brim and the safety is top-notch. The Karoq gets an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with the smart link, dual-zone climate control, digital driver's display, electrically-adjustable front seats, 17-inch machine-cut alloy wheels, panoramic sunroof etc.

The safety features of the Karoq are 9 airbags, ABS, EBD, ASR (Anti Slip Regulation), ESC (Electronic Stability Control), electronic parking brake, MBA (Mechanical Brake Assistant), HBA (Hydraulic Brake Assistant) and a lot more. The T-Roc offers 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment with VW's App-Connect, dual-zone climate control, automatic headlights, digital driver's display, panoramic sunroof, rear AC vents, paddle shifters etc.
Coming to the safety features, the T-Roc offers 6 airbags, ABS, EBD, ESC, ASR, TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System) and park distance control. The T-Roc is in no world a lacklustre car but when you play brochure to brochure with the Karoq, you feel that it lacks some goodies.

Skoda Karoq Vs Volkswagen T-Roc : Engine and performance
| Engine | Skoda Karoq | Volkswagen T-Roc |
| Engine | 1.5-litre TSI | 1.5-litre TSI |
| Power | 150 PS | 150 PS |
| Torque | 250 Nm | 250 Nm |
| Gearbox | 7-speed DSG | 7-speed DSG |
As we stated earlier, both the car comes with the same 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine that churns out 150 PS and 250 Nm of peak torque paired to a smooth-shifting 7-speed DSG box. This engine also comes with cylinder deactivation technology which deactivates two of its cylinders when the full power is not needed which saves fuel. None of these cars is offering any diesel engine or manual transmission options and comes with a single powertrain option.

Skoda Karoq Vs Volkswagen T-Roc : Prices
| Prices | Skoda Karoq | Volkswagen T-Roc |
| Ex-showroom | Rs 24.99 lakh | Rs 19.99 lakh |
Now the big elephant in the room appears, it is now apparent why the Karoq offers so many features and the T-Roc doesn't. The Karoq is a bigger and better car, undoubtedly. But it is Rs 5 lakh premium over the T-Roc and that is the confusing part. If you see, both the cars share exact powertrain and common features, however, the Karoq offers more. The question is should you pay the premium and get the Karoq? Well, it depends!

If you are not so fond of electric seats and an array of overboard safety features to cocoon you, the T-Roc seems a sensible bet. But turn the other way around and you will realise that for that extra 5 lakhs, you are getting the segment-best safety, electrically adjustable front seats, more space and better looks; it starts making sense, right? But no matter what car you choose, you can't go wrong with any of these!
