The motto of Steelbird is clear as water; to increase the road safety and save maximum lives of two-wheeler riders. The introduction of India's first ECE 22.06 standard helmet range will help increase the portfolio of the company.
Speaking of the specific standard rating, the ECE is the European Standard Safety rating system. This is used to specify the amount of stress & strain the helmet can withstand before the breaking point. To keep up with the increasing traffic and faster traffic speed, ECE keeps revising the ECE standards. Currently, the ECE 22.05 standard runs across the globe; which is followed by maximum helmet makers globally. Contrary, the Indian government is also keen to make the ECE 22.06 standard mandate for the upcoming January 2024.

According to the new mandate, the helmet manufacturers will be pushed to supply ECE 22.06 certified helmets to the distributors or retailers from January 2024. But, the riders will enjoy the relaxation of wearing the ECE 22.05 certified helmets by then. With the upcoming mandate insight, Steelbird's decision of launching the new Blauer range seems more logical.
While testing the helmet, the product is passed through various impact angles. The results are then noted and they make up for the ratings accordingly. Currently, the front, top, and rear impact ratio comes into the count. With the new 22.06 standard, new impact angles will also add, and hence enhanced safety is bound.
