The renowned Austrian motorcycle manufacturer has successfully homologated their upcoming 2022 KTM RC 390 mid-size sports motorcycle in India. The new documents showcase that the new motorcycle will be larger in overall dimensions as well as it will feature new technical upgrades.
The homologation documents showcase that the new motorcycle will be 1965 mm in length, 799 mm in width, 1145 mm in overall height, and the wheelbase will stand at 1347 mm; making the new motorcycle bigger in overall dimensions while compared to the current generation motorcycle.
Apart from the dimension, the new updated KTM RC 390 will feature a brand new lightweight chassis for more cornering ability and high-speed stability, a larger air filter box for more efficient air-intake into the engine, a bigger fuel tank for more riding range to the riders, and even a new all-LED headlight setup. KTM says that the new motorcycle will feature more sorted ergonomics and even the top speed mark will be higher for the new updated RC 390 as compared to the current-gen bike.

On the performance front, KTM will continue using their renowned 372.27 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine which produces a staggering 42.91 bhp of peak power. This power is mated to the rear-wheel via a 6-speed constant mesh transmission which also uses a slip-assist clutch function and even the quick shifter technology of seamless aggressive riding on the track days. The kerb weight of the new bike stands at 158.2 kg. KTM has also added the new 5-spoke alloys which are anticipated to be more lighter than the current generation bike alloys.
KTM will continue featuring the rider assist technologies such as a MID TFT screen display which has Bluetooth smartphone connectivity and features like the step-by-step navigation, WP Apex USD front forks (adjustable), WP Apex single mono-shock (adjustable) suspension setup enabling the rider to tune the bike according to their riding style, and road conditions. Rumors over the internet also suggest that the new update will also feature better brakes, safety tech such as traction control, and even cornering ABS which will be India's first for the mid-weight sports bike segment.
We expect KTM to launch the new motorcycle by the end of this month and once launched it'll be priced merrier than the current-gen motorcycle.
