Volvo Buses India Launches Completely Built Sleeper Coach

Volvo Buses India, the local subsidiary of VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV), has today announced the launch of its first-ever completely built sleeper coach. Built on the tried-and-tested Volvo B11R chassis, the 15m sleeper coach has already found its first buyer in the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation, which has ordered 8 units of the new coach.

Also, it must be noted here that the companys sleeper bus body platform is even compatible with the manufacturers B8R range which comprises 12m and 13.5m chassis. The Volvo B11R is tailor-made to offer a high level of comfort even during demanding conditions. The highlights of the chassis include a 12-speed I-Shift gearbox, Electronically Controlled Air Suspensions and Electronic Braking systems are notable.

Furthermore, the complete built sleeper coach carries 39 births and offers 12.5 cubic metres of luggage space for the passengers. It features fire-retardant grade fabrics, cushions, ABS surfaces and plywood while ensuring an upmarket ambience. The sleeper body is underpinned by a high strength carbon steel structure that has been given an anti-corrosive treatment. While cruising highways smoothly, the sleeper ensures comfortable and spacious berths with headrests for passengers along with dedicated small luggage space, mobile chargers, and a personal reading lamp. There is also a provision for a curtain between adjacent berths. The wide gangway with anti-skid vinyl flooring provides ample space for in-vehicle accessibility. The LED lamps endow the interiors with the right blend of aesthetics and functionality.

We are confident that the new Volvo B11R sleeper will establish a new benchmark in the rapidly growing sleeper bus market.
