Yamaha EC-06

The EC-06 takes a completely different design approach from the River Indie. While the Indie features smooth, rounded surfaces, the EC-06 sports a boxier and sharper look, giving it a more futuristic and edgy appeal. Yamaha describes it as a "stylish and cool design for the young and trendsetters."

The scooter's design concept emphasizes everyday usability - featuring a high-centered gravity setup for better maneuverability, a horizontal core layout for relaxed riding, and a stable stance for improved stability and balance.
Performance and Range

Powering the Yamaha EC-06 is a 4 kWh battery pack paired with a 6.7 kW motor, delivering a top speed of 90 km/h. The motor offers three riding modes - Eco, Standard, and Power, along with a reverse assist mode for added convenience. Yamaha claims an IDC range of 160 km on a single charge, although a full charge takes around nine hours, which is relatively long compared to most competitors in its class.
Features and Connectivity

The EC-06 features a colour LCD display with SIM-based connectivity, offering live ride data and smart features. Riders can access riding stats, mode selection, and other functions through Yamaha's connected app interface. Some of its key highlights;
- 24.5 litres of under-seat storage
- Reverse mode
- Smart LCD cluster
- Three riding modes (Eco/Standard/Power)
Verdict
With the EC-06, Yamaha is signaling a serious intent to make its mark in the electric mobility space. While it borrows the robust underpinnings of the River Indie, Yamaha's design finesse and connectivity-driven approach give it a unique identity. It's stylish, smart, and practical - perfectly suited for young urban commuters looking for reliability with a tech-savvy edge.
