TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Detailed Review
The TVS Apache RTR 200 4V has always been a good looking sporty motorcycle. However, with the BS6 update, TVS even updated its halogen headlamp to an LED unit with a revised front fascia. While some people love this new front design of the motorcycle, some people prefer the older setup. However, most people will agree that the Apache RTR 200 4V looks splendidly awesome. The motorcycle looks very striking and has a sharp design language. At the front, it gets a new all-LED headlamp with twin LED DRLs. It doesn’t get any sort of visor for wind protection as standard. However, TVS offers a blacked-out visor as a part of its accessory package.
The Apache RTR 200 4V features a sharp aerodynamic side profile. It gets a muscular fuel tank with sharp tank extensions and there is also an engine cowl to protect the engine. Also, one can notice an interesting bit in this motorcycle that its fuel-filler cap is positioned in an offset manner and sporty red-coloured graphics run on the fuel tank along with the body panels. It gets a split seat set up and at the rear, it gets a LED tail lamp. However, the indicators aren’t LED units. The motorcycle gets golden-coloured front forks and a dual-tip exhaust, which further enhance its sporty appeal. The new TVS Apache RTR 200 4V BS6 is currently available in three colour variants. They are Gloss Black, Pearl White and Matte Blue colour shades.

Apache RTR 200 4V body specifications:

The TVS Apache RTR 200 4V BS6 is a naked sports motorcycle and it has healthy proportions. This motorcycle has a length of 2050 mm, its width is 790 mm and the height has been rated at 1050 mm. The TVS Apache RTR 200 4V has a wheelbase of 1353 mm and it sports a muscular fuel tank that has a total capacity of 12 litres. This motorcycle’s good fuel economy and a large fuel tank ensure that you get a good riding range while doing long-distance tours. The Apache RTR 200 4V’s seat height is 800 mm and so it might not be very suitable for short riders but it isn’t very appropriate for very tall riders too, courtesy of the high-set footpegs. It weighs 153 kgs and thanks to the 180 mm ground clearance, it can really glide over speed breakers effortlessly.

Summary
The TVS Apache RTR 200 4V offers a massive ground clearance of 180 mm and its body has decent proportions too. Riding comfort however is not best due to the high set footpegs and the high seating position.
Apache RTR 200 4V body specifications:

The new TVS Apache RTR 200 4V is powered by a BS6 compliant 197.75cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine and it gets TVS’ Race-tuned (RT-FI) fuel-injection technology too. This BS6 motor churns out around 20.5 PS of maximum power at 8500 RPM and 16.8 Nm of peak torque at 7500 RPM. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. While the Apache RTR 200 4V isn’t the most powerful motorcycle in its class, it sure has more than enough power for your intra-city commutes and it will excite you every time you twist the throttle. It gets an assist and slipper clutch too. Moreover, it sports a new GTT or Glide Through Technology feature too for low-speed urban riding that offers an extremely smooth and controlled riding experience.
It is because of this GTT feature that the Apache 200 can run up to 7 kmph without throttle in the first gear itself. In the second gear, it can achieve a maximum speed of 12 kmph and in the third gear, it can run up to 17 kmph (without throttle). This is a very useful feature in stop-go traffic as you can crawl at low speeds just by letting go of the clutch without twisting the throttle. However, one thing we wish TVS would have offered with this motorcycle is a 6-speed gearbox. That’s because an additional gear will help the engine rev at lower RPMs even at higher speeds and in return boost the fuel economy of the motorcycle. The Apache RTR 200 4V BS6 delivers a good mileage of around 42-50 kmpl in real-world riding conditions. It even gets a segment first features - riding modes: - Sport, Urban and Rain, which can be changed by a dedicated switch on the handlebar.

Summary
The TVS Apache RTR 200 4V offers decent performance. The engine too is a well-rounded unit that provides a decent mix of good power and fuel economy. Besides that, it now even gets first in segment riding modes. The addition of Glide through technology too is a nice touch.

The new premium Showa front forks come with a pre-load adjustment feature. The Apache RTR 200 4V offers good ride quality and it doesn’t feel unsettled even on rough surfaces. The braking duties on the motorcycle are performed by petal disc brakes. At the front, it gets a 270 mm petal disc while the rear one is a 240 mm unit. The Apache RTR 200 4V gets dual-channel ABS as standard as an additional safety aid and it is one of the two naked 200cc motorcycles, the second one being the KTM Duke 200, to get dual-channel ABS.
The TVS Apache RTR 200 4V’s braking performance is decent and there is nothing much to complain about it. The motorcycle runs on 17-inch tubeless tyres. The front tyre measures 90/90-17 while the rear one is a 130/70 section 17-inch unit. The rear tyre of the Apache RTR 200 4V is a radial unit that offers superb grip and aids in its handling characteristics. Talking about features, it gets an all-digital instrument cluster that displays a digital speedometer, odometer, twin trip meters, fuel gauge, gear-position indicator, etc. The Apache RTR 200 4V even gets TVS’ Smart Xonnect system that enables smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth.
