The 2020 Hero Xtreme 160R BS6 has been finally launched in India. It is available in two variants: Front Disc with Single-channel ABS and Dual Disc with Single-channel ABS. The Front Disc variant is priced at Rs. 99,950 while the Dual Disc variant is priced at Rs. 1,03,500. All prices stick to Ex-showroom, Delhi. Hero MotoCorp is the world's largest two-wheeler manufacturer and in recent times, the brand is trying its best to expand its portfolio to cater to people of different age-groups. This Indian manufacturer is known for its basic commuters but the company has now also ventured into affordable touring and adventure bike category. But, what is still lacking is a Premium 160cc commuter. Most of the youngsters choose their first bike as a 160cc and also people upgrade themselves from basic commuters to sporty 160cc commuters. And to cater to these group of audience, Hero Motocorp showcased its premium 160cc motorcycle at the Hero World 2020 Event. Finally, today we have for you the First Look Review of the 2020 Hero Xtreme 160R BS6.
Hero Xtreme 160R: What is it?
So, first of all, here is a brief minutia about this bike. The prototype version of the Hero Xtreme 160R made its world premiere at the EICMA 2019 as Hero Xtreme 1.R Concept. Fast forward to February 2020 and Hero Motocorp organised a grand event called the Hero World 2020 at its Centre of Innovation and Technology (CIT) located in Jaipur. The 2020 Hero Xtreme 160R BS6 made its debut in the production-spec avatar at this grand event and will be launched really soon in the country. It is a 160cc motorcycle that slots in perfectly between the 125cc commuters and the larger 200cc offerings from the company. It is targeted towards young enthusiasts, college pass-outs and fresh corporate employees.

Hero Xtreme 160R: Looks and Dimensions
The upcoming Hero Xtreme 160R is unquestionably the most striking looking motorcycle in its class. It gets an all-LED robotic headlamp with winkers, LED tail-lamps and even the turn indicators are fully LED. The bike has an aggressive stance and it looks sharp from every direction, starting from its tank extension up till the rear where there is a unique grab-rail positioned beneath the seat. It also gets a single-piece seat and while the pillion seat is raised high, it seems adequately roomy and comfortable for two adults. The bike measures 2040mm in length, 802 mm in width and 1010 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 1334 mm and the saddle height stands at 790 mm.

Hero Xtreme 160R: Engine Specifications
Hero Xtreme 160R is powered by a BS6-compliant 163cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected motor that churns out 15.2 PS of power and 14 Nm of torque. The engine comes coupled to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Hero claims that it is the fastest and lightest motorcycle in its segment weighing just 138.5 kilograms and 0-60 kmph mark coming up in just 4.7 seconds. The Xtreme 160R is equipped with Hero's XSens fuel-injection system and has many as 14 sensors that work in conjunction to deliver the best possible engine performance and fuel economy. We expect the bike to deliver around 45-50 kmpl of mileage in real-life conditions.

Hero Xtreme 160R: Tyres, Brakes and Features
The upcoming Xtreme 160R gets broad 37mm telescopic forks at the front and a 7-step rider-adjustable mono-shock absorber at the rear. It gets wide 17-inch tyres both at the front as well as at the rear, the rear being a superior Radial tyre. The front tyre measures 100/80-17 while the rear one measures 130/70-R17 providing superior grip and confidence to the rider. For braking duties, it gets a 276mm petal disc at the front and 220mm petal disc/130mm drum brake at the rear and it also gets single-channel ABS for added safety. Hero Xtreme 160R gets an inverted all-digital instrument cluster loaded with a lot of techs and it also offers a hazard light switch that none of its rivals offer.

Hero Xtreme 160R: Price and Rivals
Hero Motocorp will launch the 2020 Hero Xtreme 160R BS6 very soon and once launched it will rival the likes of TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, Apache 160 2V, Bajaj Pulsar NS 160, Yamaha FZ-S, Suzuki Gixxer and more. Hero Motocorp is known for its aggressive pricing and proffering value for money motorcycles and we expect the same from Xtreme 160R too. It is expected to be priced between Rs. 85,000 - Rs. 95,000, Ex-showroom.
