Harley-Davidson Sprint 440: Details

As showcased in the teaser, the upcoming Harley-Davidson Sprint 440 Cruiser appears to carry a more muscular stance while following the brand's signature cruiser design language. The motorcycle will underpin the same trellis main frame with long wheelbase, low stance and a comparatively smaller rear tyre. That said, the Harley Davidson Sprint 440 appears to fulfil the expectations of a typical Harley cruiser.
Beside that the upcoming Cruiser is going to feature a tall-set handlebar, a chopped rear profile, tear shape fuel tank and of course lower seat height that justifies its cruiser identity.
Engine and Performance

Powering the Harley-Davidson Sprint 440 Cruiser will likely be the familiar 440cc single-cylinder engine that also comes with the X440 and X440T. The motor comes paired with a 6-speed gearbox and produces 27bhp and 38Nm of peak torque. Known for its strong low and mid-range performance, the engine should suit the relaxed and effortless riding character expected from a proper cruiser motorcycle.
Harley-Davidson Sprint 440 Cruiser: What To Expect
Under the existing partnership between Harley-Davidson and Hero MotoCorp, the upcoming cruiser is likely to be manufactured in India by Hero MotoCorp. Manufacturing the motorcycle in India itself will help keep costs in check, ultimately enabling a more aggressive pricing strategy. The Sprint 440 Cruiser will also mark the first 440-based Harley-Davidson motorcycle to be exported in global markets.
Moreover, the brand is yet to reveal official details regarding the feature list and rival of the upcoming motorcycle. However, considering its positioning and overall cruiser-oriented styling, the Sprint 440 Cruiser is expected to sit above the X440T in the brand's portfolio. As for its market debut, the motorcycle is likely to arrive later this year with an expected starting price of around Rs 2.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
