Honda launched the updated WR-V with BS6 compliant engines, refreshed styling, and new features. The car competes in the sub-4m compact SUV segment and has its rivals in the form of Ford Ecosport, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, and the Maruti Brezza. With this being said, check out this 2020 Honda WR-V BS6 review for more details about the car.
The new Honda WR-V largely remains similar to the outgoing model in terms of overall design and bodyline. However, the car does get a new bumper design, better-looking alloy wheels, and added features which make it a much better package. In addition to this, the Honda WR-V also comes with petrol and diesel engines which are now BS6 compliant.
Engine, Gearbox, and Performance
2020 Honda WR-V BS6 gets two engine options on offer which include a 1.5-L Diesel and a 1.2-L petrol engine. The 1.2-L i-VTEC engine churns out 90 hp and 110 Nm of peak torque while the 1.5-L diesel engine churns out 100 hp and 200 Nm of maximum torque. The 1.2-L engine comes mated to a 5-Speed MT and the 1.5-L diesel engine comes mated to a 6-Speed MT. In addition to this, it is worth noting that no automatic transmission is available in the entire WR-V lineup.
While the 1.2-L petrol engine is supremely refined, it is the diesel which is more driveable and powerful. The 1.2-L engine feels a little underpowered for the WR-V. The ARAI claimed mileage of the WR-V diesel stands at 23.7 kmpl while the petrol engine delivers 16.5 kmpl.
The number of styling changes made to the 2020 WR-V are limited. To make the model look fresh, Honda has tweaked both the bumpers with the addition of more pronounced creases which make the car look more aggressive. Apart from this, the car gets new LED projector headlamps, a new grille with horizontal slats, and LED tail lamps. In addition, the car also features new 16-inch alloy wheels. The 2020 Honda WR-V is now available in six exterior colour options - PRemium Amber Metallic, Lunar Silver Metallic, Modern Steel Metallic, Golden Brown Metallic, Platinum White Pearl, and Radiant Red Metallic.
Interiors, Features, and Comfort
Just like before, the WR-V facelift comes with a very spacious and comfortable cabin. The updated models boast new fabric patterns and cabin upholstery to give it a fresh appeal. Apart from this, the feature list remains largely similar to the pre-facelift models. The WR-V BS6 gets features such as dual front airbags, rear defogger, electrically adjustable ORVMs, 7.0-inch Digipad 2.0 touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and many other features as standard in the base variant. The range-topping trim gets additional features such as LED projector headlamps, cruise control, driver's centre armrest, keyless entry and go, leather-wrapped steering wheels, etc.
The cabin feels premium and nicely put together. The seats are comfortable and provide adequate support to the lower back. Getting in and out of the vehicle is easy and will not bother the elderly people in the house.
