2021 Bajaj Pulsar 250 To Launch on Oct 28 - All You Need To Know

Bajaj introduced its sporty commuter Pulsar on the Indian roads in 2001. The bike since then has its own fan following in the market. Bajaj is about to launch its two new models for Pulsar 250 this festive season. The MotoCorp has not revealed any information about the bike so far but the latest generation has been spotted several times testing on roads.

Bajaj recently revealed a teaser video of its upcoming Pulsar giving an idea of how and what the new Pulsar will look like. It is expected that the motorcycle will be available in two variants - 250 and 250F. This article will talk about the key highlights that you need to know about the soon to be launched Pulsar 250. This launch would be the biggest launch for the company this year.

Multiple Variants

The upcoming launch will be the biggest event for Bajaj as the company claims that the upcoming Pulsar would be the biggest Pulsar ever made. The new Pulsar is expected to be launched in multiple forms - Naked and Semi-faired. Both the versions will carry the same specifications and features, the only difference would be spotted in the design language and probably the price. The latest generation Pulsar would be the loudest model in its range so far. The new Pulsar 250F might look a bit similar to the 220F. According to the reports it is expected that the bikes will borrow some of the design elements from the NS160 and NS200.

Powerful Engine

As all know, Pulsar has always been considered as a road rash. First lets take a look at the previous 220F, the true performance machine comes equipped with a 4-stroke, 220cc DTS-i BS6 engine that is capable of delivering 20.4 PS of maximum power and 18.55 Nm of peak torque. On the other hand, the upcoming models of the biggest Pulsar will derive power from the 249cc single cylinder air/oil cooled BS6 engine that is likely to produce 24bhp of maximum power and 20 Nm of peak torque. The bike would be paired to a six-speed gearbox transmission that will have a slipper and assist clutch. To ensure better low-end grunt without compromising performance the engine will be boosted with a Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) technology.

Expected Features

Bajaj is all-set to launch the new biggest Pulsar in India with a pack of some interesting features. The teaser video revealed shows the bike might come equipped with LED projector headlights with a much better illumination. The list of features Bajaj is planning to offer with its Pulsar 250 has not yet been revealed and is expected to be out soon. It is expected that the bikes will come with a digital instrument cluster with smartphone connectivity to make it convenient for the rider to potter through the city or travel longer distances. The 250F features a larger front apron, windscreen, a headlamp cowl, extended tank shrouds, clip-on handlebars, split-seat,engine underbelly cowl, split grab rails, split lLED tail lamps, and a side-mounted twin barrel exhaust.

Cheaper Than Dominar

Bajaj already has Dominar, a 250 and a 400 cc motorcycle in its portfolio whereas with the launch of the upcoming Pulsar 250 it is expected that Bajaj will play with the pricing. Dominar is now an old running model of Bajaj, though not much sold as compared to Pulsar but is a powerful sporty commuter. Pulsar is expected to be a bit cheaper from Dominar not just in pricing but also in terms of maintenance cost. There is a 50-50 possibility that the 220F would still be sold or will be discontinued.

Teased Looks

Considering the motorcycles spotted in the teaser looks quite aggressive and sporty on roads. Though the bikes were completely camouflaged but still the design language and the looks with those LED projector headlamps is looking attractive. Bajaj with its bigger launch is ready to introduce a new and more updated Pulsar with a louder stubby exhaust and enhanced looks and performance. The naked one might look like a bigger NS200 and the semi-fairing one would look like the existing 200F. As seen in the video, Pulsar 250 comes with telescopic forks upfront and a mono-shock linked to the swingram. Bajaj will offer dual-channel ABS and disc brakes at both the tyres as standard.

Expected Price and Launch Date

Bajaj in an official statement said that it will launch the all-new Pulsar 250 on October 28. The upcoming Pulsar would be more expensive than the predecessors obviously not just due to change in technology and features it offers but also due to the high production cost. The bike is expected to be launched around Rs 1.60 lakhs (ex-showroom). Further details on specifications, features and prices will be revealed soon.

Cheap Spares

The two-wheeler segment is getting vast day by day. The competition is getting tough whereas Bajaj and TVS MotoCorp's are the most budget friendly manufacturers. Considering maintenance cost as a factor, the spare parts and services are cheaper than its rivals.

Rivals

The all-new upcoming Bajaj Pulsar would compete against the likes of Yamaha FZ25, and Suzuki Gixxer 250 and SF250.
