2022 KTM ADV 390 and RC 390 Listed on Indian Website, Will Get Adjustable Suspension?

Both the 2022 KTM ADV 390 and 2022 RC 390 are awaiting launch. However, will the updated motorcycles feature adjustable suspension this time? Read on to find out.

When it comes to performance-oriented motorcycles within budget, several enthusiasts and buyers will choose KTM. Whether its the scalpel, the Duke 390, the Moto GP-inspired RC 390, or the ADV 390  performance is guaranteed across the range. All three are slated for an update, but both the RC 390 and ADV 390 are on the brink of launch this year. While the former gets a thoroughly new design, the latter comes with a new color scheme for 2022. 

Both the updated 2022 KTM RC 390 and ADV 390 are listed on the KTM India website, and the specs for the same have been revealed too. Below here we have discussed the same and also the new features, that the updated motorcycles are expected to feature:

2022 KTM RC 390

The RC 390 will be thoroughly updated for 2022 and the body design has been inspired by the KTM RC 16 racer motorcycle. The trellis frame remains the but the framework and the sub-frame are now 1.5 kgs lighter than before. The brakes are new too and lighter by 960 grams from before. The radially-mounted, 4-piston-fixed caliper BYBRE brakes are combined with a 320 mm brake disc up front and a one-piston fixed caliper with 230 mm of the disc at the rear.

The alloy wheels also feature a new bionic wheel design with fewer spokes and an open hub, and this saves almost 1 kg of rotating unsprung mass. The instrument cluster has also been updated with an all-new TFT dashboard, the same as we had seen on the ADV 390. Suspensions duties will be handled by 43 mm WP-APEX suspensions up front, and rebound and pre-load adjustable split piston WP APEX shock absorber for the rear. Unfortunately, the 2022 RC 390 will not feature adjustable suspensions.

2022 KTM ADV 390

KTM is expected to launch the updated 2022 ADV 390 in March 2022. The base price is expected to increase, and the updated model will feature some crucial changes  wherein KTM has heard our problem. The first big change will come in the form of two-mode traction control that automatically adjusts the degree of rear-wheel slip during wet conditions. Furthermore, the Street and Off-road modes will also not automatically set themselves to default when the bike is turned off. But one of the most captivating features that we could figure out from the pictures of the motorcycle listed on the website is those front adjustable suspensions.

The ADV 390 sold abroad comes with stock adjustable WP-APEX front suspensions as standard, now whether the Indian model will get the same or not remains to be seen. Aside from that, KTM has also introduced a 10-spoke alloy arrangement, compared to the previous 12-spoke one; alongside two new liveries with the 2022 ADV 390.
