2022 Yamaha MT-15 Launched In India, Price Starts From INR 1.6 Lakhs

The 2022 Yamaha MT-15 Version 2.0 was launched in the country at a starting price of INR 1,59,900 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Promised to be livelier with the evolution of MT DNA, the new MT 15 boasts a long list of updates including new front fork suspension, an aluminium swingarm, and a new digital instrument console with the Bluetooth Y-Connect App. In addition to this, the bike also gets new colours and graphics inspired by the international MT series. Here are all the details that you should know about the new 2022 Yamaha MT-15.

Yamaha launched the new MT-15 in India as part of the brand's strategy The Call Of The Blue and offers a number of new features and updates that makes the Yamaha MT-15 much better than before. For starters, the bike now gets an inverted front fork with 37mm inner tubes with the thicker outer tubes being bolted to the chassis for higher rigidity. In addition to this, the box-section swingarm is also replaced with a MotoGP inspired aluminium swing-arm. The changes have improved the stability in the corners and under hard braking. The bike now weighs 139 kg and features Yamaha's patented Delta Box frame.

The MT-15 Version 2.0 is powered by a liquid-cooled 4-stroke, SOHC, 4-valve, 155cc fuel-injected engine with variable valve actuation (VVA). This engine boasts a peak power and torque output of 18.4 Ps and 14.1 Nm respectively while it comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox with assist and slip clutch for lighter actuation. The naked streetfighter continues to feature a Bi-Functional LED Headlight with LED Position Lights, high-raised LED Tail-light, Single Channel ABS with a 282mm (Front) and 220mm (Rear) disc brake, a super-wide 140mm rear Radial tyre, and Side Stand with Engine Cut-off Switch.

On the features front, the MT-15 gets a newly designed, fully-digital LCD cluster with customizable text, gear shift, gear position and VVA indicator. The console also displays Calls, E-mails, and SMS alerts along with smartphone battery status. The Bluetooth Enable Y-Connect APP also offers other information and alerts related to maintenance recommendations, parking location, fuel consumption, malfunctions, Revs Dashboard, and ranking on the smartphone. The fresh set of colours on the MT-15 Version 2.0 includes Cyan Storm(new), Racing Blue(new), Ice Fluo-Vermillion and Metallic Black, coupled with an edgier set of graphics further strengthens its aggressive style and sporty character.
