2026 Maruti Suzuki Baleno Facelift Claimed Mileage And Engine Details Leaked!

Maruti Suzuki's Baleno facelift launch is just around the corner, on September 5, 2026. Before that, all the crucial details regarding the 2026 Baleno have leaked, including its claimed mileage figures and new engine details. As per the leaked numbers, this premium hatchback will set new benchmarks in fuel efficiency and will receive several new features. Let's look at all of it below.

2026 Maruti Suzuki Baleno Facelift ARAI Mileage Details

Maruti Baleno

According to online reports, the Maruti Baleno facelift will get the 1.2-litre three-cylinder Z-Series engine. Suzuki introduced this engine with the fourth-generation Swift in 2024. It later powered the fourth-generation Dzire, and now it looks set to reach the 2026 Baleno.

This three-cylinder unit produces 81.58 PS and 111.7 Nm of torque. It comes mated to a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT. The CNG version makes 69.7 PS and 101.8 Nm of torque, paired with a 5-speed manual only.

Over the past two years, this engine has delivered strong fuel efficiency in both city and highway driving. Its low-end torque also makes it easy to drive in metro traffic.

The biggest highlight, though, is a possible CNG version with AMT. This would be the first bi-fuel automatic gearbox from Maruti Suzuki. Demand for this combination has been high in hatchbacks and micro-SUVs, and it may now reach the premium hatchback segment too.

2026 Baleno

Compared with the current Baleno's fuel efficiency figures, the new engine gains around 1 kmpl on petrol and 3 to 5 km/kg on CNG. The outgoing Baleno uses a 1.2-litre four-cylinder engine producing 89.7 PS and 113 Nm, paired with the same 5-speed manual or 5-speed AMT options.

The trade-off is clear: losing a cylinder means a noticeable drop in power and refinement. But the efficiency gain is significant, and that's the primary reason most buyers choose a Maruti Suzuki in the first place.

Other Updates On The 2026 Baleno Facelift

On the outside, the Baleno facelift is expected to get a new front fascia with fresh LED headlights, a revised bumper and a new design for the diamond-cut alloy wheels, alongside more vibrant colour options.

Inside, the update brings a larger 10.1-inch infotainment screen with a sharper interface, ventilated front seats and new upholstery. The rest of the feature list carries over from the current car: a 360-degree parking camera, head-up display, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, six speakers, USB-C ports and a wireless charger.

On price, the current Baleno starts at Rs 5.98 lakh and tops out at Rs 9.47 lakh (ex-showroom). The facelifted version is expected to open at a similar starting price, but the top variant could cross Rs 10 lakh, largely because CNG with AMT is expected to be offered for the first time, making CNG driving noticeably less of a hassle.

End Note

Overall, this move was expected. The new Z-Series engine has proven itself across the Swift and Dzire, and its fuel efficiency numbers have kept owners smiling. The comparison above makes the gains clear: the 2026 Baleno facelift trades some power for meaningfully better mileage, a fair swap for buyers who prioritise running costs over outright performance.
