The Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG is all set to be launched on 15 October 2026. Just before the launch, the test mule of the SUV has also been spied on public roads. The test mules give us the first glance at the SUV. Currently, the only SUVs in the segment offering CNG are the Maruti Suzuki Brezza & Tata Nexon. With the launch of the XUV 3XO, Mahindra will also join the CNG clan.
Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG: Exterior
The spotted test mule looks almost identical to the non-CNG variants of the XUV 3XO. However, only the rear of the spotted mule was visible. It comes equipped with the same 'XUV 3XO' branding, roof rails, rear spoiler, connected tail-lamps and the chunky black bumper with a silver skid plate and static reflectors. The only new element is the 'CNG' sticker on the rear windscreen.
Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG: Expected Powertrain
The Mahindra XUV 3XO comes with two 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engines. One engine uses multi-point fuel injection (MPFI) and produces a power of 111 PS and 200 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the other direct-injection unit develops 131 PS and 230 Nm of torque.
For the XUV 3XO CNG, Mahindra can use an MPFI engine to keep the costs in a more affordable range. The details of the transmission options are not out yet; however, the petrol comes with 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmissions. Also, there is no clarity on the positioning of the tank and its type.
With the introduction of CNG, the Mahindra XUV 3XO will become the first car from Mahindra's portfolio to be offered in petrol, diesel, electric, and CNG.
Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG: Expected Price
The upcoming Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG is expected to have a cost jump compared to the petrol versions. For reference, the XUV 3XO is currently priced at Rs. 7.79 lakh and goes up to Rs. 15.04 lakh, ex-showroom.
