- Now gets Torque Boost and enhanced cruise control
- Continues with its 1340cc inline-four cylinder
Suzuki has officially revealed the 2026 Suzuki Hayabusa overseas, offering a series of mechanical and electronic tweaks designed to refine its performance rather than reinvent it. While the legendary hypersport retains its familiar silhouette and 1,340cc inline-four engine, the latest update focuses on improving rideability in real-world conditions and modernising features that matter to touring-focused riders. These changes are expected to make their way to the Indian-spec model soon. Same Power & Improved Low-End Response: Exactly What Makes Busa, The 'Busa'

The heart of the Suzuki Hayabusa remains unchanged, a 1,340cc liquid-cooled inline-four producing 190hp and 150Nm. However, Suzuki has revised the selectable throttle maps, delivering a stronger torque curve at lower RPM. This means smoother roll-on acceleration during city use and more effortless overtakes on highways without needing to rev out the motor. Launch control has also been recalibrated for cleaner take-offs, and Suzuki has swapped the previous battery for a lighter lithium-ion unit, reducing weight and improving overall electrical efficiency.
Suzuki Hayabusa Updated Electronics: Cruise Control Refinement

One of the most notable updates is to the cruise control system, which now remains active while shifting gears using the bi-directional quickshifter. The previous model disengaged cruise control upon gear changes, forcing riders to re-activate it manually. The new system ensures seamless highway cruising, an improvement long-distance riders will immediately appreciate.
Styling Updates & Special Edition
Visually, the 2026 model doesn't stray far from the current design but introduces new colour themes that freshen up the bike's aesthetic. The standard version gets gloss black with dark red panels or a contrasting white-and-blue combination. Suzuki has also rolled out a Special Edition that pairs a unique blue-white livery with 3D badging, a seat cowl, and exclusive detailing linked to the Hayabusa's racing heritage.
In overseas markets, Suzuki is also offering an optional Akrapovic exhaust package at a significantly reduced price, an upgrade that enhances both sound and styling, while shaving off additional weight.

What Hasn't Changed
Beyond updated electronics and calibration changes, the motorcycle's core hardware remains untouched. It continues with the same twin-spar frame, six-speed gearbox with quickshifter, Brembo brakes, and aerodynamic sports-tourer bodywork. This signals that Suzuki's priority wasn't reinvention but refinement, keeping the Hayabusa familiar for loyalists while smoothing out areas riders have long asked to see improved.
In India, the current Hayabusa is priced at around Rs. 18.06 lakh (ex-showroom). With the upgrades applied internationally, the updated model is expected to command a marginal premium once it arrives here, likely after Suzuki introduces the BS-adapted version for our market. India continues to be one of the strongest markets for the Hayabusa globally, making local adoption almost inevitable.
Verdict
The 2026 update doesn't chase headline-grabbing performance numbers, simply because it doesn't need to. Instead, Suzuki has polished the Hayabusa where it counts: daily usability, long-distance comfort, smoother acceleration and enhanced electronic support. The result is a more mature and refined hypersport that stays true to the iconic formula while quietly stepping into a more tech-forward era. For riders who already love what the Hayabusa stands for, this update seems like a thoughtful evolution rather than a reset and that might be exactly the right move.
