Aprilia has finally unveiled the SXR 160 Maxi-Scooter. And its launch is slated in September 2020! Maxi-scooters are trendy as we have already seen the Suzuki Burgman. They are known for long tour companion because of the better seats and comfortable riding posture.
Both the scooters receive 3V Tech FI Engine Technology and the top-spec 160cc is expected to churn out 12 bhp while the lower trim 125cc to make two or three bhp less. The exact specifications are still unknown and will be unveiled at the time of its launch. That said, triple digits speed can be attained easily.
Sharing more details on the features of Aprilia 160cc then it'll come with full LED headlights, LED taillights, illuminated storage with a USB charging port, fully digital instrumental console and among others.

The safety features too will comprise of Antilock Braking System and front disc brakes. The lower variant (125cc) is expected to carry a Combined Braking System (CBS).
The Aprilia 160 SXR will come in four different colours - Red, Blue, White and Black. Optional accessories will include the brand's helmets and merchandises and apparel.
At present, Suzuki Burgman 125cc is the only maxi-scooter present in the Indian market right now. The higher version, Aprilia 160 SXR does not get any competition and the prices will be close to Rs 1 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
In other news, Suzuki is also working on Burgman 150 which will be a close rival to the recently unveiled Aprilia 160 SXR. However, there is no official announcement from the Japanese manufacturer as to when it will be launched and what will be the power output for the same.
