Bajaj Dominar 250 Vs KTM Duke 250 - Dimensions and Design
Bajaj Dominar 250 looks identical to the 400cc counterpart and that works in its favour. The thick and robot-face front LED headlights gives it a menacing stance and the LED taillights looks also good in the night. It doesn't lack equipment either, with dual-channel ABS, USD forks, twin-pot instrument cluster and dual-barrel exhaust makes it more appealing.

KTM Duke 250 has also been updated with fresh looks and features. It now gets a new paint job and updated 320mm front brake router with supermoto mode. The orange-coloured trellis frame steals eyeballs and makes it a KTM. The KTM Duke 250 is smaller in every dimension and also sports a smaller wheelbase than the Dominar.

Both the Dominar and Duke 250 have the same 248cc single-cylinder DOHC liquid-cooled engine but both have been tuned differently and the Duke is more powerful. The Duke 250 produces 3 PS more than the Dominar and also has 0.5 Nm of twisting force advantage. On the other hand, the Dominar produces 27 PS and 23.5 Nm of torque but both come at early rpm range. Which means that the Dominar will be zippier in the city than the Duke 250 which produces most of its power higher rpm.

The Bajaj Dominar 250 is a feature-packed motorcycle but if you inspect it side by side with the Duke, it starts showing its downsides. The USD forks on the Dominar are slimmer than on the Duke and also the disc router size of the Dominar's front brake is smaller by 20mm than the Duke's. The rear tyre on the Duke 250 is also wider than the Dominar's which is 130 section. And also the KTM 250 gets tubular steel trellis frame over Dominar's perimeter frame.

At Rs 1.60 lakhs ex-showroom, Bajaj Dominar 250 offers a lot of features and screams value for money. It boasts of great equipment and a city-friendly & powerful engine. The KTM Duke 250, on the other hand, is Rs 40,000 dearer than the Dominar and it might seem a little overpriced. But if you want a KTM with top-notch refinement, Duke 250 should be your bet and its 30 PS of power will make your highway rides blissful. Both the bikes are very closely matched and your buy makes for what suits you better!
