In lieu of a superb response to its Scrambler 400X, Triumph has homologated the upcoming bike officially. The new government-approved documents shed light on the upcoming Bajaj-Triumph Scrambler 400X. It is based on the newly launched Speed 400 but offers a completely different riding experience. Bajaj-Triumph Scrambler 400X Homologation Details
Before launch, a homologation process is followed for every product in India. As per it, the product needs to undergo a process of government verifications. The latest uploaded documents on the official website tell that the homologation of Scrambler 400X is completed. Hence, its launch seems to be nearing. However, the Bajaj-Triumph collab will not launch the Scrambler anytime before October. This was clearly told to the media upon the test ride of Speed 400. The joint venture is waiting to read the market and gain inputs from the users of Speed 400 first. Hence, the final changes and price corrections shall be done. Therefore, the Scrambler 400X shall debut near around Diwali festival.
As visible in the homologation document, it'll be sold in a single variant only. The Scrambler will offer a more rugged riding experience than the street-oriented Speed 400. Also, there will be numerous changes to its hardware to make it look & feel different from its sibling. The suspension travel will be more, it'll get higher seat height, a new twin-can exhaust, a bigger front tyre, block-pattern rubber, & luggage mounts for touring. A special accessory pack will also be offered to the buyers so that they can customize their bikes as per their desire. Engine-wise, it'll remain the same as the Speed 400 but the sprockets will be different on it. We suspect that its launch price will be at least Rs 2.5 lakh.
Verdict
The Scrambler 400X still remains one of the most-awaited bike launch of 2023. However, the launch price will become a key factor in deciding its success in India.
